Yep. When I read the book I pictured Lauren Ambrose but the way she looked in Can’t Hardly Wait. I certainly didn’t think “Charlize Theron but with short hair.”

Dark Places was the worst of the three books. I agree that Sharp Objects was a better book - and with HBO doing this, I have high hopes for the series.
It was released pretty much direct-to-video. On Demand only, I believe. Charlize Theron played the lead and she wasn’t at all who I’d pictured when I read it and then they just missed out on so much that made the book good. I think they rushed it to finish after Gone Girl was a success.
I enjoyed this book quite a bit. I hope the show is better than the terrible movie version of Dark Places.
I ordered a pair of tights and received three pairs of tights instead of just one. I wrote customer service and they were like “You can keep them or donate them” - they were ballet tights so I just donated them to the dance studio in case they had students who forgot tights or ripped tights. Not too exciting.
He’s one of those people that I’ve tried to like because it seems like so many people do. I even tried to read one of his books but nope, I really can’t stand him.
I know he’s a vegan so he’s likely using his op-ed to promote veganism in a roundabout way but taking away people’s ability to buy the food they want just because they’re poor is a dick move.
Is that a bathroom? I can’t tell. But yeah, I don’t want to smell anyone’s afterpoop smell while I’m cooking.
Yes, that’s the perfect way to put it - being aware of your privilege. I know a few women who do those MLM things. One has a husband who owns a restaurant chain. He’s very successful. His success allows her to do this job which is great. But she always likes to post Instagrams and FB posts that are very condescending…
I just assumed that Ben Platt is playing John Cook.
Of course I didn’t mean your parents. I don’t know them, I’ve never met them. I realize there are all different types of jobs that pay the bills. I’m speaking in response to Heigl’s comment to wanting to be a mommy blogger full-time and the certain type of upper middle class woman who mommy blogs a few times a week…
My mom stayed at home until I was 8 and then went back to work. This was the 1980s where the TV babysat me most of the time and she spent her other hours cleaning or on the phone with her mom or her friends. In some ways I liked having her home because she had her “mom group” and I got to hang out with those little…
I absolutely love that movie. I would watch it with a kid that I babysat all the time. I even downloaded that song that they play at the end of it at the dance.
She does realize that this isn’t an actual job, right? I mean, sure there are a few outliers like Dooce and some others but most of the mommy bloggers you see out there working at their mommy blogs are only able to do so because they have husbands with actual full-time jobs that provide health coverage, a 401k and a…
Oh no! That does suck. But it also serves as a good warning that she is not to be fucked with. But if it gets to be too much, just have her change her name to something like Onassis.
That is the perfect description of Noel. He’s the guy who likes you but you just can’t convince yourself to like him back because he’s . . . fine. He’s fine. But he’s not that other guy that you really want.
Yes! The construction worker and Liz! Oh man. Memories.
I remember there were two Amy Fisher TV movies - one with Drew Barrymore and one with Alyssa Milano. But I do not recall seeing a Lorena Bobbitt tv movie until this one. I do remember watching one of his porns at a friend’s house. It was sad. We turned it off pretty soon after starting it.
Those who don’t know history are destined to repeat it.
