Is it surprising? It’s not unusual for the less favored offspring of a bully to be super thirsty for their parent’s approval. I imagine that’s especially true when you still rely on them for your livelihood/career as an adult.

I agree, plus sex isn’t the same as gender. There’s nothing wrong with recognizing a child’s sex at birth while making zero assumptions about their future gender (or sexuality) provided you give them options to identify correctly down the line.

I don’t suppose it matters on the birth certificate, but it does seem a little foolish to just pretend sex has no relationship to health. You don’t need to force anything on a child, but that is medically necessary information regardless of what gender, if any, the child identifies with.

That Buzzfeed article was infuriating from start to finish. It’s hard to believe that these “earnest resistance” laws are actually still on the books in 2017. How the hell do they address cases where the rape victim is drugged and literally can’t fight back?

The problem with that is that the individual mandate (basically enforced coverage) is what makes coverage cheaper for everyone. I’m sorry, but it has to be in there... or at least some sort of penalty for opting out... or it wouldn’t be able to do what it’s supposed to do.
