To be fair, I think everything I dislike, that other people like, must be satire. For instance, I considered the first few seasons of Family Guy a pretty funny satire about sexist sitcom tropes (and sitcom tropes generally) until I realized that no, those were the actual “jokes.”

It’s got to be that the tabloids just don’t get why people are buying them. And maybe the fact that they seem to have finally found a few A-listers who won’t sue them (or even comment) for making up these crazy stories.

I like the response, “she was rescued by dance,” like there are magical dance fairies flying around to rescue indigent children by providing free professional-level dance training throughout their childhoods.

What my mom did to save $ on American Girl: she got me the Molly doll for Christmas, and told aunts, uncles, Grandparents, etc. that she was getting that so they could buy the accessories or outfits (which are at much lower price points). So at the end of the day, I ended up with most of the Molly set.
