It wasn’t misnamed. Autopilot in a Tesla does exactly what autopilot in a plane does. A plane with autopilot can’t fly itself, it isnt autonomous. It just keeps the plane facing the correct direction, at the correct speed.

Without getting too far the jerk-mobile, pretty sure more people have ridden in Model 3s than Bolts, so ‘exists’ is a stretch. I agree it’ll be a surprise if Tesla accomplishes what they said they would, particularly by 2018, but people have doubted them before...
