No need to be a smart-ass, haha.

To all the folks who want to test drive the car first: try renting it for a day, you will get a longer time with the car and you will save a lot of money compared to paying a dealer just for the privilege of test-driving the car. Of course, this only works if the car you want is available to rent...

Yep, you nailed it!

Love it!

Great find! I'll be hitting up Barret-Jackson this coming January to look for a mid 50's F-100 to rest-mod with my pops. Can't wait to get started.

As evidenced by the fact I had to call him that Thor guy because I couldn't remember his name, haha.

I think that is what they were trying to do with Rush, casting the Thor guy, so it doesn't always work out so well to rely on a big name.

Exactly, and very well stated!

That's what I was getting at. Sure, people will appreciate it as a good movie. But how do you get them to watch it in the first place? That's where marketing failed.

It will be interesting to see how this film does internationally. You brought up a Football movie, and we all know that Football is HUGE in the states, so a Football movie would likely do much better than an F1 flick (in the States that is). Internationally F1 may put more butts in seats than American Football.

Oh I totally agree. I'm only 31. But you are an exception, as you admitted you are a huge F1 fan. Getting non-car people to see a car-movie is not an easy task. I can count on one hand the number of huge F1 fans I have met that are younger than 30. People in our generation can certainly enjoy it and appreciate

That's a very good point. The trailers give you nothing about the story. So then yes, maybe it is a marketing problem.

I think this movie just doesn't speak to the masses. I was surprised this was even being made in the first place, my first thought being "who could you possibly market this to?" Sure, it may be a great movie, but I don't think the general public is in the mood for a racing movie right now, especially one about F1.

Hiring her is a stupid move. Sure, it might work. But if it doesn't, the lawyer bills are gonna cost an arm and leg.... haha, see what I did there?

Very true, but I also don't consider the Commander, Patriot or Liberty big SUV's. They are cross-overs at best. When I think of big SUVs I'm gonna go with Tahoe, Suburban, Expedition, Excursion, Sequoia, etc....

Sounds like a blast to drive! Part of the fun is knowing how fast you are getting a 3-ton chunk of metal to 60. If it was a 3000 lb car then damn will be under 6, but in a big SUV/truck 7 to 8 is still fun.

Nah, large SUV does not mean small engine, they usually scale the engine size to go with the added weight. I'm pretty sure the Expedition still has the 5.4l, so it should do 0-60 in about 8 seconds. That's not fast, but it's faster than some entry level cars.

Soooo basically, they just lived my dream weekend.

I'm switching careers. So much Raptor want.

This!!! Nailed it.
