I actually think FF does work as an MMO, but only if it isn't story-driven.
Yeah I guess...
That is true.
It's mostly a publishers view. They see the cash cow that is WoW and wants a piece of it.
I agree with you Rath, I think this is most likely the way it is in general.
I'd like to think of this as the father of games such as Demon's Souls/Dark Souls.
Jade Cocoon is a series I missed, and I'm so saddened by that fact because I remember playing through a demo of the first one back in the day, and loving it immensely.. but at that time I was just a kid, and couldn't afford a lot of games, so other titles took priority.. Really hoping to see re-releases of Cocoon on…
FF8 was amazing. I remember being so psyched for it's release! somehow I had managed to get the first hour or so of dialogue from the interwebs, and I kept reading through it weeks before the release. Man I was psyched.
I never did get the craze for Lost Odyssey.. I felt that it was one of those games that kept getting worse as you got further and further into the game.
So we're looking at a quantity > quality type of deal now? great... then again.. I guess that's been star wars since episode 5.
It'll be interesting to see where this will lead.. I mean there's a dozen or so books that's been writing about the aftermath of Episode 6. So there's a lot of grab and make movies of. I just hope they stick to the timeline that these books have set up.. and not change things too much... Also since it's disney, I…
Don't worry about the length, it's a good read. =)
Really like Gaige, fun chick and good gameplay. Made it to 18 yesterday and the whole anarchy mechanic is really fun. Looking forward to when that thing goes through the roof, into higher stacks then 150, and all the extra mechanics later in the tree, with overpowered melee attacks etc.
Yeah, I noticed the animations and such, Which is nice. I was mostly picking Bioshock because of the setting/powers etc. Which isn't a bad thing. I do like that setting very much. I mean who couldn't love Rapture? =)
I do like how they're stretching the norm of FPS, with animations and such, but still.. I just don't like that narrative. It feels so... unpersonalized and.. idk.. american.
I think the whole MMO genre is great for understanding things about yourself. I'm glad that you came to this realizations with SWTOR and yourself.
I think a lot of us here can relate to your situation. I think a lot of older gamers, were somewhat shut ins (I know I was/am) in their youth, and probably still are. So I think we can all understand what you're going through. I think it's great that you feel you can say something in this community and I hope you take…
I just don't find 1st person fun. I actually want to see my avatar, the representation of who I'm controlling in the world, and seeing him interact with the world. It just sells the experience for me.
