I like your way of putting it. Saying "these pathetic people need to feel like they have a chance," is pretty awful, but no one likes to be friend-zoned. I feel like it's a more neutral perspective.

All I'm saying is that GoDaddy is aware of the problem and is being intentionally provocative; that is, that they don't necessarily agree with the trope, they're just exploiting it. I think that being openly disgusted by the kiss is worse than exploiting that disgust, but that's just me.
