There seems to be considerably less downside to getting a manual VW GTI, since the clutch and lever aren’t exactly finicky... so I personally wouldn’t bother with a DSG particularly with an enthusiast car.
It’s common, that’s understood. That’s also one more thing to worry about when using this car as a toy (beyond brakes, tires, and the fact that it’s a Mitsubishi). So unless the average Joe can count on $60 fluids, the manual transmission sounds like it can buy you a couple more tire swaps... I’ll probably take that…
