God this is so typical. There are so many uptight administrators who try to enforce their view of decorum on everyone else.

Yeah I thought of this too. Even thought that it might be a mistranslation or trolling. but guess not.

I’m all for sex-positivism and for honest sex-based education. But common sense tells you to get parental buy in before taking kids to an adult establishment.

Agreed, the idea that erections make men stupid is insulting. The whole idea only exists to excuse horrendous behavior.

Um since my partner and I both sleep naked. Does that mean that we HAVE to do it every night. Hey! Dr. Ruth, sometimes we’re just sleepy.

The policy on its face is illegal. The wonder here is how they managed to go this long without a lawsuit.

“The problem with this line of thinking is that hipsters, for all their insufferable pretension, are more often than not very, very on point with food”

WTH!! You put Okra at the bottom! Tempura okra is just fried okra.. also known as the closest thing we have to evidence of a just and loving god. Some may think that this is a matter of subjective tastes and personal opinion. Nope you’re wrong. :-)

I suspect that the poor advice is a product of her generation. When she was an undergrad, it was probably not an option to go to the university itself. In this case, she could start by directly addressing it with the adviser. That of course might be too difficult for her, and if so, she could go to HR.

I have really been torn about the man spreading thing. I appreciate that I as a man am not entitled to more space. But I swear Its the natural way I sit. I swear I try to squeeze it in when there is little space.

Okay that settles it. I hated these damned places before, now we move to firebombing.... kidding. But why the hell are we not done with the whole “unhealthy food and sexual harassment” as business model.

That is all correct except the part of her not being a real judge... although I guess if you wrote that she is not a real judge anymore I might have taken it. She was a semi famous tough as nails judge in family court before going to TV. full disclosure... I efffing love watching judge judy. She is often too mean, but

Actually, I figure that is probably what happened. Most large companies are not so direct because they have attorneys. But every organization has a dumbass or two.

Excellent piece

I worked at a place in the nineties, where two people got fired within about a month of each other. Both of them were jackasses and not very bright. Here is what has always puzzled me is the second guy. The first guy was caught really quick and let go instantly, it was semi public and everyone knew about it. the Guy

Not sure how cleanly this story relates to the overall phenomenon of police brutality, racial bias and corruption, but.....

The convictions question varies widely from state to state. In many states (including mine) asking about a person’s criminal history is de riguer, and it is perfectly legal to exclude them from employment based on past convictions. This prompts some people who have served their time to simply lie on applications. That

This happened to me when temping all the time. I would show up at a job, where they say they need someone a week to help with the giant backlog. I work steadily for a day, and they realize that their own staff are just lazy. I find out the next day that I had cleared the backlog and they don’t need me back.

I had a very similar experience, with a different company in the early 90s. It was clearly a pyramid scheme dressed as a job opportunity. What killed it for me in the interview was when the “interviewer” asked me to name some of my friends that I could sell to. He wanted their actual names. I gave the name of someone

This is technically correct, but asking about religion is heavily discouraged because it suggests discrimination, and can be evidence of it. If he did not get the assignment, the mention of religious questions is enough to get an investigation started. Family issues are usually a little safer, although they can
