Well, I certainly appreciate that. To be completely fair, it's not all their fault as our society has been molded into a form that promotes and coddles this type of response.

If I can take a little bit of heat off of Mike and put it on myself (because Mike is admittedly a far better human than I) or maybe open up

I suppose my problem with that is the very general term of "Minority Groups" and "Women's Groups", especially when women in the US are a majority (not a minority) with equal rights and protections under the law...

I also have a problem with the insinuation that such a comic is "incredibly hurtful", without specifically

Fair enough. Thank you for being the first one with a logical argument to something that I said that was factually inaccurate.

What I meant to say was more of a Holocausty type genocide, which I'm sure everyone would agree we should avoid. I apologize for my error in this instance, and I hope you have a wonderful day!

I'm sorry, but what minority groups are you speaking of? Penny Arcade made a jokey comic like they've always done and placed it on the internet. Instead of just saying "Oh, well I didn't care for that one at all", we had people having spasm attacks like Mike was condoning the rape of everyone, everywhere, at all

See, your kind of statement is exactly the kind of thing that I'm talking about. Using all capital letters trying to seek the attention of an adult so they know that you've recently made a mess in your pants and you do not like it.

Again, nothing to do with "gamer culture" as you are describing it. It has to do with

Not sub-human because they disagree with me. Sub-human because they're overly sensitive.

Not a gamer issue. An issue of not being a crybaby because yet another thing rubbed them the wrong way. Be sensible!

Thanks! I agree that genocide is an option, but a messy one. Breeding them out is a pretty classy way to go!

100% agree with you. I don't totally blame him, as a bunch of people who have nothing better to do than be oversensitive on the internet had to start a mob to enact wanton justice.

I would always prefer people to stick to their guns and not cave to these ingrates though. Still like the guy and love all the awesome

Excellent link and tragic story. Totally feel for the guy, but at least he saw his kids. I get the Japanese point of view, but the US should have opened the gates for the guy and worked on it from there. The idea that an American citizen was denied access to a US Consulate is completely horrifying.

Thank you for

Winning courts in the US will do nothing for the guy if she never comes back to the country though. She effectively has gotten away with kidnapping his child, for the time being, which is one of the worst things a parent can go through whether it's the child's other parent or not.

I understand that the mother is

99% of donations to charitable causes do nothing to actually solve a problem. This is about allowing a man to make an effort to get back his son. That is more worthwhile to me than giving money to the homeless, feeding people in countries that shouldn't be having more children, or making pet adoption shelters so

Yeah, but all you have to do is go public (which he has done) and ask for donations to go over and get his son back. I would absolutely contribute to this cause.

100% agree with you 'scope. I'm actually shocked at how many people are taking a "Eh, whatever" approach to this. The woman has kidnapped his son and is likely never to return. Anyone who loved their kids would do anything and everything, legal or illegal, to get their child back. Right now, the guy is going

Basketball. Try getting around that one! (Goggles/sweatbands do not count)

Well, thank you for letting me know... I guess I'm not too familiar with the whole world of speed rush gaming.

I still think what they're doing is a cheat, but I appreciate the fact that you provided me with a wealth of pertinent information! I shall attempt to pass along your knowledge as I am able.

That seems fair to me. Otherwise it's kind of like letting a deaf guy compete in the Special Olympics for track and field. Doesn't necessarily mean he's going to win, but his disability is not preventing him from competing in the standard Olympic games...

Unless... do they start the race by gunshot in the Olympics?

Okay, then we throw a "*" next to his name. To have a record count, it should be on the same system/platform/equipment as the others use. I don't know if everyone uses this system or not, but if they do then they're fine. The fact that it was made mention of in the story, it is faster, and this is a speed related

Well, to fix my own the glitches would be more like steroids. I have to say though (to keep up with the analogies) that using the iQue appears to be like corking ones bat. Yeah, you still have to hit the ball and run the bases, but when it's something that is strickly speed based the equipment one uses should all be

Thank you Dtwenty for the clarification. Now that I know what it is (called the iQuo or something?) I'm still against it. Authenticity for a record is huge, and while I wouldn't exactly compare this to steroids, it does seem against the spirit of the Speed Run idea...

It's mentioned that he's playing on a slightly faster version of the game. I don't know if that is the Japanese version, or what is going on, but I agree it should have to be on the N64 console with an unmodified version of the game.
