TASTES LIKE CHEAP LOTION! YOU GUYS ARE SUCKERRRRRS!
It’s been awhile since I’ve felt so strongly motivated to jump online and see what people’s reactions were to something. I was mostly underwhelmed that the promos of the show seemed to make it look like it was just the movie being retold in the comic’s style, and watched the first episode only because Netflix blared…
And they even did the TOS movie rainbow warp effect with the captain’s yacht!
I’ve very much had the same thought myself - the answer I always come back to is that Symphony of the Night was just so damn good that later developers were at a loss of what else to do and just phoned it in.
Definitely the best episode so far. If it can keep picking up steam, this will end up being a decent series. If not, well...

This post needs to be remembered forever.
One thing I love about this show is that when a character only has very tiny scenes in an episode, they consistently manage to mine it for all its worth.

Speaking as somebody who did like Rogue One, but wasn’t nearly as blown away by it as a lot of other people seemed to be...
Nicely done.
So that those of us who watch Harley Quinn can know that the lamb is actually Clayface in disguise the whole time, duh.
Just a pearl clutch for those who need it.
“I am Worf, son of Mogh, House of Martok, son of Sergei, House of Rozhenko, Bane to the Duras Family, slayer of Gowron. I have made some chamomile tea. Do you take sugar?”
For all its ups and downs, I’ve enjoyed NuTrek most of the time. But for years I’ve felt aggravated that DS9 had mostly been ignored - if you’re going to make it a nostalgia-fest, dammit, give me the good shit!
The key advantage of the style often cited is that it lends itself very well towards elaborately choreographed fight scenes on a reasonably small budget. The action is very kinetic and creative while also being a lot easier to follow than, say, typical Marvel fight scenes.
