Morn!!

I’ll confess that for the first few seconds, I thought, “Hmm, the Kennedy speech is a weird choice and seems more like a distraction, I don’t know...” And then it just kept racking up one clever and poignant parallel after another, and I warmed up to it.

The first rule forbids killing humans. Which means the X-Men, even with their new angle on life, still can be heroic. Phew.

Jean and Emma and Scott are gonna go off and do a thing.

“Give me liberty, or give me death!”

Yeah, I’m kind of surprised that I’m not seeing more people jump on his wording there.

If it’s the price of admission to hear Scooby say, “I am the night,” I’m willing to pay it.

They’ve got Mageneto with them, just have him do what he did to Wolverine in Fatal Attractions, but in reverse.

Soooo... anybody else think that the armor that the Sinister guard clone was wearing looked kind of... familiar?

In all seriousness, I think it’s more likely than not (say, 70% chance) that he will find some way to attack Ilhan Omar on 9/11. Actually accusing her of masterminding the attack is being hyperbolic (so only like a 40% chance)(and dear god I wish I knew if I was kidding right there).

For me the tipping point was when Trump drew in that bubble on the map with a sharpie and tried to act like he had no idea what people were talking about when asked who the hell did that (“I don’t know, I don’t know”). There are only two possible (not mutually exclusive) explanations for this surreal moment:

Yup, this was the moment I permanently put aside any speculation that Xavier is actually the Maker. That was... not a remotely Maker-ish reaction.

Pretty much 99% sure it’s Husk. Hickman has shown a previous affinity for the Guthries, plus...

DC’s He-Man was a very underrated comic.

Now playing

You would have to get these young people to spend chunks of their year in remote, depopulated parts of the country. That’s a big ask for kids who a) spend most of the year in school and b) would rather spend their downtime at the beach.

It’s something that even his harshest detractors that have actually interacted with him at length don’t push back against. By all accounts, he genuinely doesn’t touch alcohol. Watching his older brother die young due to complications from alcoholism genuinely rattled him. It’s probably the single most human thing I’ve

Do good stories and “fantastic whiz bang ideas” really need to be at odds with each other? People seem to be enjoying the hell out of this so far (I know that I am), and I think a lot of people would agree that Hickman’s proven he can do both in the past.
