I know it’s a bit late and may not get the eyeballs that SDCC did, but maybe io9 could organize an Artists Alley of its own? You guys have done a fantastic job historically in showcasing small-time creators of genre art. Maybe pick 5-10 a day and give them a boosting post with links through to their content? I would

Is it possible to get a non-video version of the article? Would love to participate in the discussion.

I didn’t get out of the 1st season, which is unfortunate because I <3 pirates and the acting was tremendous. But after the ungodly amazing opening act, I was expecting more, y’know... pirating? In a show... about pirates? I felt like the whole time I was whining “When are they gonna get to the fireworks factory?!?!”

Walter Matthau has a certain charm in the otherwise terrible “Roman Polanski’s Pirates.” Graham Chapman is manic and ridiculous in the (again) otherwise terrible “Yellowbeard.” Worth watching these once to see the performances, and then bleaching the experience from your brain.

If it’s not Barclay’s - and it might be - I think it’s canonically likely to be Geordi’s? He’s at the bottom of that pile, I think.

1) You know what, I really like Disney’s retro-future thing. I like Tron, Tron 2, and Tomorrowland, and I felt they all should have done better than they did.

It’s the AV Club, but several hours later!”

I selected... POWER DRIVE!

Yeah I’d be on board with her taking the role! And, as I’m a high-powered casting agent, this is meaningful! (Note: I am not that).

“...shadowy cabal of nerds...”

You joke but I’d really like to see this turn into a Planet of the Apes scenario. An early treatment of one of the JP sequels (maybe the 3rd one?) had human-dino hybrid mercenaries. Let’s justgo for it!

Sorry to be a downer, but had to turn Ad-Block back on today after trying to live with this site without ad blocking for a long time. Huge, loud auto-play ad in the middle of the article, and ABP counts 92 ads blocked as soon as I load the page. Sorry guys. Can’t do it.

I would pay actual United States American dollars to see Man-Bat & Birdman, Attorneys At Law.

That was a fun show! I discovered it through the Big Broadcast, as I’m sure many others did too.

A bunch of people fleeing from the murderous Terminator?

Alas, there never is.

I have to say I am really impressed with the value I’m getting out of DC Universe. Something like $6 a month and I’ve got the entire back-catalog of comics (more or less), most of the animated movies/shows (including B:TAS! But not, for some reason, Mask of the Phantasm), and some live-action stuff.

Just for, like,

Also adding Archive 81, a Mieville-esque New Weird podcast with some light Lovecraftian/Chambersian DNA. You can start, weirdly enough, with a “special” episode they made in the format of an old-time radio show between Seasons 1 and 2. The rest of the show is tonally different but thematically similar.
