I’ve been googling a while and am increasingly sure it’s in the collection “3 Moments of an Explosion,” but the titles are super non-indicative, so who knows.
Yeah it was not a good week.
I barely remember seeing this film, unfortunately, because I watched it on DVD within a day or two of watching Todd Solondz’s “Happiness,” and my hatred for that other movie has utterly obliterated any fondness I might have had for Magnolia.
I read a short story recently, -maybe by China Mieville?- with a similar premise. It centers around a therapist who murders people who are traumatizing her patients. It’s told more as a joke than this movie seems to be.

I wasn’t a big football fan in 1994 but I played a lot of Madden ‘94. My chief takeaway from that game, accurate or not, was that the Bucs were god-awful and it was a lot of fun to play as them while beating up on the computer, thus demonstrating my superior Madden skills.
