No, it’s not. It’s a callback to golden-age musicals, but it is not at all a “movie about the history of the film industry.”

The HFPA in particularly does like their musicals. Les Mis had 4 nominations and 3 wins at the Globes that year. The Oscars doesn’t at all share that affinity weren’t nearly as kind, with only one win in a major category (Anne Hathaway, which after a quick glance at the category I don’t have a ton of heartburn over

A fair point; to me, La La Land is half of a musical. There’s really only 4-5 songs (though I’d disagree that there’s no songs that are memorable, as opener, City of Stars and Fools Who Dream all have been stuck in my head for two weeks).

Why the hate for La La Land?

It is — and IMHO deservedly so — but there are still more nominees :P

And here it is. Came to the comments just to find a “are you getting paid” response, and was not disappointed.

Iron Man 3 is not at all a good comparison. Batman Begins is, which is admittedly derivative in a completely different way.

Perhaps, but how does that jive with what he knew about the al Ghuls’ before he “met” them in the series. If he knew Talia before, don’t you think it would have come up?

See, I’m thinking that we might see a similar twist on the real identity of Talia al Ghul, where we find out that Lexa Doig is playing someone playing Talia, and that Carly Pope’s Susan Williams was actually Talia all along, Batman Begins style.

Evan may (or may not ... I still have to read) a great point here, but can we all get behind sites NOT using this image anymore? It’s scary for those of us with an irrational fear of drowning :)

Monsters! Why would you do this to a perfectly good hoodie?? :)

I mean, if one watches a medical show on TV, they could follow that.

His performance was also way over the top.

I really, really liked Limitless, and miss it - or at least the best parts of it.

The pedantic answer is 24.

Rob ... how can any mention of a Flash musical not mention Jesse L. Martin, who originated a role in a Tony winning musical?

Not the whole thing. I wanted to rewatch recently, and they no longer had the full season.

I guess that depends on where your office is. The only place in walking distance for me is the Max and Erma’s in the hotel across the street.
