“... fans getting a bit stir-crazy after waiting so long for The Winds of Winter and season 6.”

That’s fair. Considering CBS and Paramount have been involved with Trek all along, I thought it raised to the level of “developed,” but your point/edit is appropriate.

“...tried to torpedo Star Trek as much as they could.”

You’re absolutely right. That’s why CBS has allowed other works of fan films to continue without intervention. Axanar crossed several lines, which is why it was shut down.

Thems the brakes folks. Gene Roddenberry created it, and it was his choice to sell it to Paramount.

What an amazing sense of entitlement. Gene Roddenberry created Star Trek. He sold the rights to it to Paramount. You can’t take something from them and do what you want to with it.

Hey, buddy, you have fun. I missed one word and you showed you didn’t know that there was a difference between “precedent” and “president.”

There’s a massive difference between a government approved non-profit entity, and Axanar’s (and the fan-film productions mentioned elsewhere in this tread) assertions that they are not trying to profit from this project.

“precedent”

You came up with Star Trek? And the Federation? And Vulcans? That’s quite impressive, since has been dead for 25 years.

But they own it. Come up with your own idea and you’ll own it. We’re not entitled to more Star Trek just because you didn’t like what they did last.

No more bizarre than a Star Wars movie with no Skywalkers.

Yeah, protecting the ideas that they developed and own. What horrible people they are.

Yeah, I think the whole thing really started when crowdfunding became a part of the plan.

“Now the channel is suing the filmmakers even harder.”

I’m trying to remember, but prior to Wells, I don’t think anyone died other than Adam, who Clarke killed earlier in the episode (Which Charlotte watched, leading to her actions).

It’s weird how “we” look at TV characters to me (and I say this as a guy that used to write a for a blog like this).

I knew it was Lew.

To which Flashpoint change do you refer?

“I rolled my eyes at Wells’ death because of course the only black main character got killed first.”
