That's a good point, I'd probably be irritated if I dropped that kind of coin on a car and had those problems.

This is entirely possible, considering two of my cars were MKIV VWs, but the last two were a 350Z and a BRZ.

Clearly. And my latest car is a BRZ and that thing has had/has more problems in the first 10k miles than my 350Z did in 90k. When I bought it I thought, "Surely a joint venture between Toyota and Subaru will be trouble free."

I'm impressed, every ICE car I've had has had more issues than that in the 24k miles!

Tomorrow's headline -

I get it, you wanna impersonate a police officer, but you can't afford a police car analog. So you borrow a car that's hard to trace back to you and someone else even foots the bill for the gas. Hell, that's even kind of smart.

Good for them! Its nice to hear good dealership news.

I could watch slow motion videos of racing all day, I find the mechanical components fascinating to watch.

That looked painful, did you get a bruise on your knee from that?

And the steering can lock up too. And if its locked against the pin theres a damn good chance you can't turn the key back to "on" anyway.

That did not look like very much fun.

You should be very, very proud of yourself for getting through that without turning green and looking totally miserable.

The problem is how the small startup auto builders tend to act. They try to gussy themselves up and project an image like the established players instead of embracing who and what they are. This lends them to say things that peg the BS meters on people that know the industry and promise things that can't be delivered

The BRZ reminds me a lot of the 2001 BMW 330 in terms of feel at the limit. It'll push if your off throttle, but is mostly neutral. The difference is when you get on the gas, that mechanical LSD will make it rotate no problem. I really like how it never does anything spooky no matter what surface its on (except gravel

@#$%ing crickets! The service departments keeps telling me that its normal, I keep asking why the car didn't make that noise when I bought it. I loathe that noise so much, it sounds like a belt is slipping and it's intermittent enough that it catches me off guard

Well, that's not my biggest complaint... and I've mostly gotten over the crappy infotainment system since I just started using it as a Bluetooth receiver for my phone only.

Lemme tell you, I own one and its really that shitty. The BRZ infotainment system wouldn't have been considered good in 2003.

That just about happend to me in an International Scout a few years back. My buddy picked me up in the truck the day after he got it and the first corner we took cause me to slide across the vinyl bench seat, thumping into the door, which popped open. That left me dangling out the side of the truck hanging on the rain

He was just demonstrating how to properly say the car's name... "I-BENT-a-DOOR"

I applaud and support your realistic yet outlandish goal.
