THAT is freaking cool.

I haven't watched the video or read the comments... I'm going to guess... inflatable scarf/neck thingy. Let's see...

If that had been my car my thinking would have been more like this -

I don't see any front, side or curtain airbags, that seems strange given the severity of this crash.

Amazing. This is absolutely brilliant.

Aside from ending up on the steps in the first place, it seems like the driver did a damn good job getting the car out of that situation without needlessly damaging the steps or the car. Hell, I'd bet if they had it towed out both the car and steps would have had even more damage.

Bought a BRZ... what a wonderful machine, very well executed package... except for the abortion of an infotainment system. Every time I have to interact with it to, say, change the radio station I ask myself the following question...

Well, FWIW, I laughed.

It sounds like Chris Harris got a cold... poor guy.

It took me a minute.... but then... LOOOOOL!

Now playing

Indeed you can... that's so obnoxious though. Why have none of the reviews I've read talk about this (cough Jalopnik cough)...?

I didn't know this was a thing... I haven't tracked my BRZ yet, but I've slid it around on wet parking lots plenty and haven't experienced the TCS or VCS reengaging after being defeated.

2 Flat 2 Felonious

Texas got rid of all of their curves citing that their citizens only stay on the straight and narrow.

Thats the BRZ STi. I'm like sure about it.

After reading the later CNN reports, it looks like your right. They had to put the fire out twice, the second time the fire fighters had to cut away the door frame and punch a bunch of holes in the pack to douse it with fire.

...hit debris on the highway...

That video is pretty gnarly, my dad had a couple of Buicks with the soft close trunk mechanism. Even those had a load limit that would keep you from totally mashing your hands and you could re-release the trunk at any point.

This cracked me up so much.

Be careful doing this in the US, I've heard of people getting slapped with contempt of court. I prefer to keep my protests to my self.
