It’s not for everybody. I get that. But there’s no way in hell it’s as easy or simplistic as she’s making it seem. Maybe the first stage is like that but it’s the first stage. The rest of the game is very much action-strategy. You can’t just keep going forward and hitting attack; that’s absurd. Even speedrunners

She’s wrong. You absolutely cannot just walk forward and keep attacking. After the first level, you’d be dead quick doing that. She probably didn’t play past the opening area.

No, you’re wrong and she’s right. Just keep walking forward, bro, you’ll be alright.

I guarantee you did not play for “a few hours”. You probably played the introductory first area and never even got past the relay point town. If you made it any further, there’s a snowball’s chance in hell you just ran right at everything and hacked away.

You can really just run right and mash your attack button.

For a second there, I thought this was from Gawker, then I realized it’s supposed to be dead.

Can they really lay blame on the QA play testers here? It seems like missing dialogue is someone else’s fault. From my understanding, the translation folks are provided a script and the translation happens in plantext, so if someone forgot to put in the translated text, it would be either a translation fault or

Huge difference here between No Man’s Sky devs and Atlus, huh? Tiny mistake almost nobody will find: Long explanation and apology. NMS: Silence.

I think the hype train behind this film is setting everyone up for disappointment...and sadly it’s not even the PR’s fault, it’s the outlets reporting it getting over hyped.

God, you are dense.

ok

Welcome to last year’s argument.

...and Myst needs more explosions, right?

Now THAT is a opinion question. Personally I think all of the games 1-7 have great battle music. I personally favor 1-3. The only battle music I didn’t like so far in the series in DW4. Beyond that, they’re all pretty great.

But DQM:Joker is very much a side-companion to DQ8. You might as well just tell people to start with DQ8. The reason I recommend 9 as a starting point is because it’s easy, it’s simplistic, and very mainstreamed. I don’t particularly like the game being a long time DQ fan, but if you don’t think you’re going to like

The DQ series is very much a text adventure though. Think of it more like the D&D Compendiums where you get pictures of the monsters and stuff, but still the core game is text-based and not visual. DW/DQ has always been very text-based even though it’s almost 50/50 visual, but the visuals and shit were never the true

Yet every other DW/DQ game doesn’t follow the same path as DQ7, which is kind of the point of what I’m saying. It’s a different kind of adventure, but if you go into the Dragon Warrior / Quest main series expecting action packed visual treats, you’re in the wrong line of games in the first place. These games are

That’s because DQ9 is the child’s version of a DQ game. If you don’t like DW/DQ games, it’s probably the best way to ease into them. Beyond that, the remainder of the series is basically exactly the same as one another as far as gameplay and difficulty curves go. I would’t recommend starting with DQ8 because it’s so

You don’t sound like the kind of person to start Dragon Warrior with DQ7...if you want to be eased in, start with DQ9. It’s basically the Final Fantasy: Mystic Quest of the DQ series.

In your opinion. Not all adventures have to begin with some giant tragedy. The entire purpose of DQ7 is that it’s unraveling a mystery of an isolated world. It’s not your typical RPG that starts by having some demon show up and find out immediately you’re the one who is destined to save the world. Lord of the Rings
