DQB2 drastically improved the controls, size/scope, and internal mechanics (especially how much stuff you can hold)...but the story sucks IMO, and DQB1 was better in all aspects except the aforementioned improvements.

No, games are poorly designed because of double jumps, and double-jumps are stupid because you can’t fucking jump mid-air. Maybe if game designers made levels well enough to account for a character’s normal jump, there would be no need for stupid ass double jumps.
