Don’t paint all self-published books with the same broad stroke. Many are bad, as there’s no barrier to entry, but many are better than professionally-published books, where a publisher decides what will “sell” vs what is “good”.

I agree, and that’s why I think these companies are shooting themselves in the foot. While I might be willing to pay $12 a month for a service like Netflix, which has movies, anime, original shows, and shows like the Office, I am not willing to pay $8, $10, $12 a month just to watch limited content on NBC, Disney, etc.
