You’re tall. You need heated seats. You loathe SUVs but have a clear fondness for wagons. You’d like to at least have a shot at a manual transmission. You go for stuff that’s a bit off-center but not outrageous. All noble and good.

I am extraordinarily anti-SUV and honestly would rather walk than drive one.

Honestly, the Chevy Volt is a pretty good option here. It’s not manual, but it’s a heck of a car that accelerates quickly, it quiet as a church on Tuesday, and can swallow a ton of cargo with the hatchback. Gen 1 is a bit better for tall folks (i’m 6'4") but both generations can work. It’s worth a test drive.

I was ready to forgive the stupidity of the HOA when they walked back their fucking ridiculous policy in this memo....until I got to the quotes around the word reasonable. Now, unfortunately, everything and everyone has to burn.

Fellow Northeast Ohioan here, currently daily a 08 speed3, but I’ve been looking into getting a 14+ Cadillac CTS V sport. 420hp Rwd sedan for under 30k. Only problem is auto only but I’m at the point where that’s no longer a deal breaker for a daily.

Fucktard? Seems uncalled for.

I’ma let you finish but the Flex was the best EcoBoost “crossover” of all time.

“This is not the ST you were looking for.” I bet they tested it right out in the open, uncamouflaged, and no one even noticed it. EDIT: now I think I get it - is this a Grand Cherokee SRT-8 competitor?

Huh.

That’s why I refuse to live in a neighborhood with a HOA.

“But be sure to keep the porch light on from 10pm to 6am every night or you will face a fine of $200. Also, you are not allowed to park in your driveway.”

I’m not (often) naked when I’m in there working with a bench grinder.

This doesn’t seem so bad! I’ve seriously considered it for my own garage. Keep the doors shut (because frigid Michigan winters) while not sacrificing that sweet, sweet natural light.

I love how the HOA announcement throws quotations around the word “reasonable.”

At least the paint didn’t get ruined.

You know... my wife wanted the STI... I told her... (and I feel REALLY fucking dumb now)... “I’d rather change one head gasket than two”...

Actual words. This was before I knew about the RS’s problems.

I’m overwhelmingly familiar with that article.... and the source material on FocusRS.org that it borrows from (I’ve had conversations with several of the people doing the investigations in that thread).

Mentioning it does 0 good whatsoever. Actually I get the feeling it put them on the backfoot and made them defensive.

Oh, your second paragraph is exactly what I’m doing.

I’m going to drive the car like it’s been advertised... and every once in awhile let Ford know its using coolant. If they don’t fix it... that’s their fault .There are a few reports of the problem causing block/head warpage.... and one person was rejected by his

6 trips to the dealership for using coolant. 1600 miles on the car total and the coolant has been topped up by a Ford dealership 3 times.

Two different dealerships have refused to log it in for service without charging me an “Evaluation fee” which is non-refundable even if they determine something is wrong.

Thanks Ford,

Tape covering the lights is intentional deceit. You might actually have some recourse against the seller. Steve Lehto did a story about a failing transmission with super heavy gear oil to mask the sounds. Intentional deceit supersedes “As-Is”
