So wait...the EPA does stuff other than hacking apart legislation that was meant to save the environment?

The upper trims add red as well, but I agree only 3 (rather dull) color choices for the base model is stupid.

I keep saying that to all of the DCT junkies that say “but it’s faster”. Are they going to claim the same thing when the car is faster at automatic steering as well?

I wouldn’t quite go that far. Honda and Porsche still have good manuals as always, the Fiesta and Focus models have really great manual transmissions, the Tremeks in the V8 Camaro’s, GT350, and Chevy SS are all really great. The one time I drove a BRZ and a GTI they both felt pretty good as well.
There are still really

Exactly. I have wondered though in the age of the internet if this model is really a good thing or not.
Say I was looking to buy a Honda or Toyota car or CUV, I might price shop online, find that the Chevy’s are ~$1000 more expensive, and not knowing that I could actually get it for $3000 less, simply skip going to a

I was with you on the first two points, but I think Porsche already is a niche automaker...it’s just a really big niche, and it may get bigger, or at least shift, as more cars become automated.
The one thing is Porsche is already embracing electric cars, at least in sedan form, which is a step in the wrong direction as

“Bad fake vents on the Civic don’t forgive ugly vents on the Corvette.” - No, but the fact that they are functional, and need to be that large to be functional does forgive what people perceive as ugly.
“The idea that one must choose between form and function is ridiculous.” - it isn’t at all though. Overwhelmingly

It’s possible they went a bit overboard...perhaps simply to quell naysayers.

I’m not sure why everyone hates the way this looks. Function over Form IMO. It looks aggressive, and all of that aggressive flare is real and functional, not fake like the Civic’s front and rear grills.

Because the Z06 with a few less radiators overheated on hot track days.

Maybe a Convertible with a manual.

You say this is a lot to pay for engine and aero, yet I doubt there is a single car that can match it for it’s price. If you count only European cars then you’d likely need to hit roughly double it’s price to find something competitive.

I didn’t know there were twisty Roads in Michigan either. I’ve never found much more than a slightly bendy scenic road in Michigan. And I’ve been all over the state.

The hilarious part about that statement is my 62 year old mom just bought a car this year, and I went test driving with her. The dealership tried very hard to convince her to get a CUV, but she literally didn’t like the handling (too much body roll), and she got a sedan.

Wait wait....there are twisty roads in Indiana?

If people have serious ingress/egress issues for a sedan at the age of 51 then they are doing life wrong (although I guess that does apply to a lot of Americans).
And my hatred of CUV’s isn’t irrational, I have explained that rationale.
Cars are either the same or better in every way apart from ingress/egress, and I

Mazda’s may be the exceptions to the rule as they seem to concentrate more on handling than most brands, but in general a car will still handle better simply because they have a lower center of gravity, even if weight and chassis is the same.

I am talking about taking a lesser car for the same price simply based on future value.
You also need to consider that if you keep your car a long time the value difference will be less significant. An optioned Kia Stinger might loose more value in 2 years than a similarly priced BMW, but after 5 years (when the BMW is

First of all old people do not make up the majority of CUV buyers. People buy them because they have some delusion that they are as practical as an SUV with the fuel economy of a car, and in reality they are neither. The ride height is to harbor some other delusion that they have roots in off roading, which is also

People who buy Minivans usually want that third row seating though, if not for every day use, at least for occasional.
The problem with most CUV’s like the CX-5 is it isn’t really any more practical than a wagon, but handles worse (because of needless ride height) and gets slightly worse gas mileage.
CUV’s are just
