I look forward to this. MT has had almost no coverage on the SS 1LE despite many of them talking about how much they love it.
Plus I am also excited to see how this PP2 does.

Keep in mind this is probably a change from ~150lbs uplift to 24lbs downforce. So 24 down might not be much, but it’s 174lbs (pure guess) more downforce it used to be.
Speaking of extended warranties, I just had a weird runin with mine.
My Fiesta ST (with extended warranty) has been making a weird whiny noise when turning right and accelerating for a while now. The first time I took it in the dealer couldn’t reproduce, but it got louder so this time they heard it.
It turns out it was…
It makes sense if you want a serious performance car.
The SS 1LE and likely this GT PP2 are/will be in the league of $100-$150k cars on the track.
It makes me wonder, will the GT PP2 outperform the GT350?
The 5th gen 1LE was like this as well. 275's all around but I think they had an 8" wheel in front and a 9" in back, so you can rotate tires, but you’d have to dismount/remount them.
Looks like Ford is finally releasing a competitor for the Camaro SS 1LE.
On a slightly related note, when I was Michigan (actually at Ron Dauzet’s house) I saw a new 2018 Mustang there. I asked the owner (or driver, as it was a company car) about it and he said it was an Ecoboost V6 that was coming out. I clarified…
In the real world, if I were to choose a getaway car from a planned heist, it would be a beige Toyota Camry with a bumper dent. All you would have to do is merge with traffic, and it would become completely invisible.
Now if I were to know ahead of time that I would be pursued regardless and need a fast car to flee,…
It is, but the Corvette GS is only ~400lbs heavier, and that isn’t enough to make up for the (supposed) 95hp disparity between the two cars.
Even the 5th gen 1LE was quite nimble, despite it’s heavy weight. At altitude however, you would want a supercharger to overcome the lack of air pressure.
I think these new turbo Porsche’s are making a lot more power than claimed.
This is why I’m always so torn on the Cayman.
It’s a great drivers car, but $80k??? Seriously? There are certainly faster cars that are arguably just as good to drive for the same or less money.
I for one would much rather have a GT350R, Camaro ZL1 1LE, or a well optioned Corvette Grand Sport for the same money as a…
Why didn’t you get an SS 1LE? Same suspension but more manageable power, and lighter as well.
They might do the trick assuming they could be swapped to manual.
Exactly. The Flex isn’t as fun as a Chevy SS, but it surely is the most exciting 7-passenger vehicle I’ve ever driven.
Expect mid 14's stock from the ecoboost, and faster with just a 93 octane tune. They handle decently for their size, certainly better than any SUV or minivan on the market. Looks aside I honestly don’t…
Or you could just get an ecoboost flex and tune it or box it for an extra 100hp. High 12's in that brick will surprise a lot of people.
“Every time. Every damn time we do a What Car Should You Buy, one of you turkeys inevitably suggests the Chevrolet SS with a manual. Someone could be after a sensible crossover for a teen or an interesting old truck or an eco-friendly replacement for their 2001 Toyota Prius, the commentariat chimes in to say they…
Yes, and there are a lot of great cars under $50k......
but look at this (off the top of my head) list of 2-door performance cars above $100k:
Ok, calling it a POS was going a bit far. But seriously, according to the reviews it’s a numb steering, not so great sounding, automatic only sports car with a supercar price tag but only mid-trim Corvette level performance and a ~$70k Euro car level interior. Beyond Honda fanboys, and people that just love the look I…
Miata RF and GT86 is pretty close to a GT6 in spirit.
