The 4.6 was a bit long in the tooth by 2003, but it's a fantastic engine and relatively efficient considering its a 2v. I can't believe it took this long to find a comment about the SHO. They came later obviously, but I think there was no better example of them taking on the status quo than the SHO. They marketed it against the 3 series, which IMHO, is pretty ballsy.

As far as sales go, I think it does marginal at best. I think there was talks of it being discontinued or replaced. Seems odd though, it should have the same underpinnings as the Grand Cherokee, which it is quite good.

Slightly off topic. That photo definitely shows that the Durango is a good looking vehicle; I feel like it doesn't get enough love. Too bad the current model came after the bankruptcy and not before. Instead we got the minivan on steroids... yuck!
