Right before the bailout, GM was in a weird place where they seemed to put SS badges on everything. I even remember the Equinox getting them. Still, I was unaware that the HHR SS received any real upgrades. Interesting.

Why Ford doesn't sell the "global market" Ranger in the states is beyond me. We were outfitting the Afghan Police with them when I was stationed out there. They're quite nice, seem well put together and would be great with an Ecoboost, say of the ST variety.

My true first car, the 1994 SHO Taurus. Better looking than the first gen, still a parts bin wonder mated to IMHO one of the best V6s ever made. Great sleeper for it's time, was reasonably quick, very comfortable, saved my life in a major accident, and is one of the major reasons I own three Fords today.

You dismiss displacement as an valid argument, yet the GTO was using a 6.0L in it's last year to produce 400HP and the current Camaro uses a 6.2. Those are considerably larger engines. If you consider HP per liter, all three cars come out roughly the same. 4.6@315=68.4 HP, 6.0@400=66 HP, 6.2@426=68.7. You say Ford

OK. Outside of the Germans, in 2009, who was putting out more with similar displacement?

Nice choice! The forefather that eventually brought us the RB26DETT. In looking for a photo to reply with, I came across the Z2 variant. Maybe a bit too modern looking for purist, but at 510hp this 2.8 was a monster. It was a nice way to send the R34 into the sunset.

If you mean the 4.6, then yes, but the Bullitt had the same 3V that they eventually put in the 2010 GTs with the added bonus of 3.73s out back. With that set up, I'd be hard pressed to call it a "boat anchor", it just isn't a Coyote 5.0.

I'd say I really like my current cars, but I don't love them. Still, I have loved ones before.

Arguably the most Jalop car of all time... Well that or a Holden Maloo. A hat tip to you, sir!

Well said. I have a version of this but it applies to those moments when it's time to move on to something else.

Even though the 370Z is more of a entry level sports car and the Mustang is a pony car, the commonality of two doors and a similar price point is what makes them considered in the same market.

Maybe I'm in the minority here, but I quite like the look of the coupe.

Agreed. Had a 91 Stealth that I loved and it is still running in my buddies ownership with 180k on the clock. It was just a great car.

I'd wager he bet his hair again...

Driveshafts I believe. If you look around on Youtube you can find videos of people who have gotten rid of the electronic limiter on the 2011+ V6 Stangs and the end results at speed.

Yeah, that wheel was pretty common in any of their "performance" cars. My 2000 Lightning has it instead of the standard F-150 wheel. I think it's aged relatively well compared to its contemporaries. See just about any GM wheel from that time period...

As a kid, my dad's 92 Grand Prix had that steering wheel, HUD, and a trip computer in the center console that displayed all sorts of random information. I remember my friends calling it the Batmobile. It didn't seem so bad when I drove it as a teenager almost 8 years later, but in hindsight now, it hasn't aged well.

Crazy. He did mention that there were runners, very similar to "Coyotes" in Mexico, that are paid obscene amounts of money to bring these people in, and often the boats they use sink in transit. Pretty tragic.

Iranians are a illegal immigration problem for Australia? I was talking with a fellow in Brisbane just last week who was considering a position with Aussie Border Patrol that said you guys were having a problem with illegal Indonesian migrants (AKA boat people) , but he didn't mention that. Is this widely talked

I was wondering how long it would take for someone to reference SimCity.
