My backlog of games has me lukewarm on both. Going by the current generation of portables, it will be another 3-5 years before I pick up either of these devices (unless someone else buys one for me). For the public in general, no, NGP probably will not significantly steal any thunder from the 3DS. They will still

They brought up smartphones a few times during that presser making me think pricing could be similar. That is, the price of the device outside some plan could be in the $500-$700 range. For example, here is an expensive smartphone with some similar features:

Probably not right, but the estimate isn't completely bonkers depending on the OLED screen. We need to know the cost/inch the version Sony is using for the PSP2. Gamestop's estimate seems to be based off the screens on televisions, like LG's $180/inch screen. The PSP2 is 5in, making the screen alone potentially

@Char Aznable: The fact that you know what Wild Arms is makes me want to heart that comment. Sony, Xseed... whoever has the rights to this franchise now, please make Wild Arms 6!

@IntolerantJuice: Thank you, good sir! I forgot to check back there.

@Char Aznable: If developing for the NGP and porting it across multiple platforms is as easy as the presser says it is, there wouldn't be a reason not to do so. Add in all the PS1 classics they can port to the thing, and they would be crazy not to support it. I want to know if Falcom will be on board as well, since

@BigBaboo: I think the competition between Nintendo and Sony will be much more interesting this time with the 3DS and PSP2. On the surface level, I think the general consumer will just see the PSP2 as a more powerful PSP while the 3DS is more innovative with it's glasses free 3D.

The key little nugget of information I still want is a full list of developers supporting the platform. There were some noticeable Japanese developer absences from Square Enix, From Software, and Level 5 to name a few. I'm hoping they are on board and that some of the rumors about smaller developers switching

@Xaxir: When he wrote that I couldn't help but think "for the love of god, somebody say 'that's what she said!'" I am disappointed.

@N-Robes: Rolling to go faster is still one of the gaming quirks I have never understood. Link's case is worse because his rolls are usually accompanied with a grunt that gets annoying when you are spam rolling to get across a field. Thank god he gets Epona!

I wonder if Imperial Hot will be there. Granted, SE just had their own little show, but it would be a good gesture for platform support. I wouldn't mind getting a new Valkyrie Profile title for the PSP2.

@RTS: It is a fan made Zelda game that was changed to an original title, then canceled. Sad, because he had a working demo that was pretty fun.

Now playing

This just serves to remind me how much I want them to finish The Shadowgazer.

In my experience the only time a video game has led to aggressive behavior is when it was poorly designed with frustrating game play. I think AVGN shows this effect nicely in his videos.

One thing not accounted for in this complaint is older games. It is highly unlikely that you will find an older game in new/mint condition. That's why when Gamestop was getting rid of their N64 and PS1 stock years ago I went on a shopping spree to find some rare gems. Damn Suikoden II eluded me (go ahead and pirate

The consumer reports seem a little out of the ordinary this time. Normally you would think it's just a corrupt save file and they could load another save. But according to some, it's the character file that gets corrupted so none of the save files load and they have to create a new character. Maybe this is a left over

@relic1980: But we must know about the dangers of newclear (purposely misspelled) technology in the hands of Iranians!

Did Vectrex ever make an arcade unit? That name just sounds familiar and the only 3D gaming experiences I had, outside of the Virtual at the store, were at the arcades at a few theme parks (probably Disney). Those were the only times I have ever been able to see 3D.

@relic1980: Well played sir. Odd that it is a UK link, is it not? But I dare you to find one for George W. Bush!

@geiko: I know quite well what our President wants to do, were he thinks we are on these plans, and the generic statements made about where the government will go from here. What is going on in the country in general, or more important for some of us what is going on in our specific state, must be known and can't be
