Would this also give them the option of a “throwback” uniform with the racist-ass logo? Because I could totally see them trying a stunt like that even if they can’t sell it direct through MLB.

I got too focused on the fact that there were so many legacy entrants, and that’s on me. I would have loved for more spotlight on NXT, but at the end of the day, it’s still the development roster. I also lost sight on this being the first women’s Royal Rumble; being so jaded on how the WWE has treated their

An excellent point, and a legacy that should have much more focus. I can’t speak of her relationship with the McMahons, but her and Triple H does put a interesting spin on how they might want to treat her going forward. I’ve heard that she got a shoutout from Steph during the Rumble, so perhaps there’s something going

Looking it up, yeah, there was actually a point in 2010 where Macho was offered the Hall of Fame, but Randy said only if Lanny and Angelo Poffo, their dad, were also inducted. Both Angelo and Lanny were good, and Angelo was in the WCW Hall of Fame, but even with my disparaging of the WWE Hall of Fame I think it was a

There’s the always persistent rumor that Macho Man did some, ahem, untoward things to an underaged Stephanie McMahon, but when you compare previous inductees like Pat Patterson, Jimmy Snuka, Jerry Lawler, Stone Cold, and fucking Abdullah the Butcher, there’s always been a glaring Macho shaped hole until he got in. I

Yeah, I didn’t realize the dearth of the women’s roster. That’s on me. I went back and counted like, 34 on the roster at the moment across all three brands, and at least four wouldn’t be wrestling. With Rousey coming in, maybe WWE will hire some more women to fill out the roster.

Mea culpa. Read the results wrong.

Mea culpa. Read the results wrong.

I never take WWE at face value when it comes to “honoring the past” because they’ve been complete and utter shit at it. The WWE Hall of Fame is a great indication of how they “honor the past:” Macho Man wasn’t in for an ice age, they inducted Pete Rose, Drew Carey, and Donald Trump (and don’t give me the “celebrity

Yeah, counting it up, they barely have 34 wrestlers. Four wouldn’t be in the match (Charlotte and Bliss because of being champs, Paige and Alicia Fox from injuries), meaning there would be a lot of spots to fill.

There’s always NXT, who did get two spots like in the men’s rumble, but if you want to do a women’s rumble and promote women’s wrestling, I’m just thinking maybe you should be featuring the talent that will actually show up week to week.

I’ll catch it later, but I’m not sold on bringing in past talent for this. Surely there were seven or eight other women wrestlers on the roster that could have used the rub and the money.

I hope it was a barn burner, because without watching it, it seems almost shameful that ten out of the thirty entrants were non-roster. That’s ten spots (and ten paychecks) that didn’t go to current wrestlers. One or two is fine, since everyone loves a random-ass entrant (like the fucking Hurricane in the men’s

Didn’t catch the match, but read the results. How in God’s name could that have been better than you expected? Literally a third of the entrants are not on a roster. It’s like I fell into a time warp to the 2000s. On top of that, if I’m reading correctly, Asuka didn’t even win clean since Nia Jax eliminated Nikki.

I knew it wouldn’t be the last time Favre misrepresented growth metrics.

I keep him playing World of Warcraft and watching Star Trek with me. Works like a charm.

Had a pal say that the Wall Street Journal (the fucking Wall Street Journal!) was a liberal rag after I cited a study from it showing that it’s not kneeling but garbage football that’s causing the NFL ratings to drop.

It’s a problem I’m intimately familiar with, having served in the military. Too often, our service members are dying from suicide, due in no small part to the hyper masculine culture. And yes, that includes women who’ve served, at a much more alarming rate. You don’t want to be seen as weak.

I keep waffling about pulling the trigger on getting the Network, but bringing back Starrcade might push me over to doing it. I would say that listening to the fans would be a great idea, but this is WWE we’re talking about.

A HOUSE SHOW?! I thoroughly enjoy that on the Wikipedia page, it has “live event” link to house show, which cracks me up. But wow, this smacks of pettiness from Vinnie Mac, which shouldn’t surprise me but damn.
