Unfortunately, it looks like we missed out on the chance to become Qux® First Look Trailblazer Test Pilots. Maybe down the line.
This EV won’t work for me because the commute to my job is 20 miles each way and once I get there they don’t give me enough money to buy this car.
Wow, a bunch of birds crashing into the WTC this close to 9/11? Really poor taste, birds.
The purpose of subsidy is to incentivize certain behaviors. They are inherently political.
Subsidy is a mechanism to encourage certain behaviors. Subsidy being only applicable for union-built vehicles encourages support for unions. Are unions still important to us?
Unions, or the equivalent power on the side of the workers vs those that have power to crush workers, should be supported.
I love Tesla cars and what they’ve done to push EV adoption but their track record on unions and forcing employees to work during the pandemic without proper precautions is bullshit and proof that unions are a necessary component of the process.
dude they could bring in Bob and Prometheus from Kablam!!
Ford, GM, Stellantis North America, Mazda, Subaru...
And yet none of the American automakers seem capable of it. Ford has given up on cars entirely, Chrysler is basically just selling a minivan and some old stock of a 16 year old model they have laying around, and Chevy is limping along with infinite SUVs and a Corvette.
“Croffle” sounds like a disease your great-great-grandparents tried to avoid. “Don’t go out in the rain after visiting with friends or you might catch the croffle!” they’d say right before feeling a tickle in their lungs that they knew might spell their deaths from a disease that eventually would be cured by the mold…
And this awesome charging cable.
Tesla Model 3. It has some weird halo effect despite being ugly and having a bargain basement interior... And that's before getting into the quality issues. It drives fine, it's fast, and electric... But since when does that get it a free pass when it also costs $50k?
“Some collusion” and a handful of job hoppers is not why the settlement was $415 million, and if you were around at the time, you may remember that was considered a huge bargain for the tech companies to get out from under that problem. It was in fact massive collusion that depressed salaries and kept good employees…
The companies in that article, including Apple, colluded to make it more difficult for the people who put in the time, did the work, etc. to get fair compensation when they asked for it (or to take their labor elsewhere if they didn’t get that fair compensation).
I found this to be illuminating...
