How do you expect them to scale it?
How do you expect them to scale it?
I looked it up. The CF option is $5,000. You can get the base splitter or no splitter at all. I retract my complaint.
To save less than 50 grams?
I want the ATS-V power and brakes without all the silly and costly carbon bits. I want a car I can drive and drive hard while not worrying about crushing a carbon fiber splitter pulling in to get ice cream. Saving 100 lbs is not worth the cost.
The Dewalt goggles are cheap, available and I think you can get a tinted shield if you’re working outside.
I wear a tight fitting welding hat when wrenching on the car after $6,000 in eye appointments to remove a spec of rust that got in my eye (probably from my hair) post wrenching. I’ve worn safety glasses religiously for 25 years and I still got hurt. Now I wear sealed goggles and wipe my face thoroughly after getting…
In the last gen Volt I got 50 miles out of a mostly full charge trudging through Chicago. I was quite surprised how much EV range I had at ~25 mph in stop and go city traffic.
I’m talking about real world, butt in the seat and drive to work range estimates coming from the car itself.
The GM/Volt range estimates have been dead nuts, within a mile or two at most. In cold weather (30f) it seems like in a BEV you’ll have a range reduction of around 20-30%. I don’t know of any specific studies however.
Chlamydiais pretty rough, bro.
That’s a shame, it’s honestly two/three dozen wires at most.
What engine??
I’ve never seen a Mk2 gearbox fail unless it was run out of oil (I had one 020 transmission over 430k miles) Speedo problems happen but they are rare. How did “all dash electrics fail”? Power steering is a craps shoot, they’re better without power steering anyway, I’d have swapped in a manual rack. I’ve…
They’re not that expensive for a decent one. 20-30k is about average, that’s hardly house selling money.
How in the hell was your Mk2 a money pit? They’re dead simple, the parts are almost free, all 12 of them!
I’ve owned about 7 or 8 of them.
The Subaru AWD system is just gears. It’s simple and when you’re not driving like it’s Sno*Drift don’t give many problems. Their biggest issue is headgaskets on some models and normal stuff like ignition coils.
I’m trying to track one down to go with my ‘76 W115 300D. Then I’ll have a “weekend” car for almost any situation.
I’m in Detroit so I don’t need a canyon carver, I’m better off putting the work into the race car.
You buy a W113.
It’s not cute, it’s not plucky, you never have to make an excuse for it.
It’s not a knife edge razor, the steering is not ultra crisp but that’s what you want. You want a comfortable GT like car you OR your wife can and in fact does drive.
THINK OF THE CHILDREN!
No, that does not matter. I’m only talking about pack longevity. Pack life is dependent on percent of total discharge.
Say you use 30 kWh per day (about 100 miles). With a true 60 kWh pack you’re discharging to 50%.
With the same 30kWh usage on a 75kWh pack (even if you only have access to 60 kWh of that) you’ve only…
I live in Detroit, don’t even get me started on tax payer funded stadiums.
I think there is a role for both types of vehicles. I have personal clothes, business docs, tools and other things I keep in my car 24/7 I rely on having those resources at hand. A taxi does not give me the same ability.
If you only carry a…
