Taken where you’ll see them most often. The mall parking structure.

Did you ever change the oil???

Every system I’ve seen is that way. Like I said I’m not a race engineer so a definitive answer is

It helps when rebuilding the car but they tend to value low and that adds a pay to win aspect. The more you can afford to race the more you can put into your car. That’s not always a fair option.

Automotive fastener engineer here. I’ve not worked on center locks in particularly but there are some major safety and redundancy advantages to a multi lug nut system. I’m sure the modern center lock systems, when applied correctly, do a great job but the level of inherit risk relying on one nut is not trivial.

That

I’ve built 3 Lemons cars, I’m intimately familiar. I did not realize junkyards were giving away LS motors and transmissions for that cheap.

For my VW stuff you can pick up a motor for $100 and a trans for $75 but it’s a very different market.

How in the hell did they let that fly under the $500 limit? Unless Lemons has seriously changed in the last few years since I ran.

That’s 860 wheel horsepower (?) so that’s around 1120 at the crank to account for drivelines losses. I used 30%, maybe that’s a bit high but it is 4wd.

Jalopnik Click Bait? NEVER!

I’m assuming they have other tires? Somethings here are seriously incongruent.

With no aero changes I have a really really hard time seeing this at 190+

Any time slips to prove it?

You need to drive some cars with better brakes. The pedal feel is poor and the bite characteristics are all wrong for a car that sporty.
Sound is subjective.

It will cost you a little more money $500-$2000 for a $30k car but you effectively get a multi year test drive for the price. For some people it’s worth it if you’re unsure about a new engine, transmission or other systems

I’m in Metro Detroit so maybe I see them more often then most people but they’re literally everywhere on a nice Friday night. You’ll see a dozen of them roll down Woodward in 5 min.

They’re special to car guys like us. However an exotic needs to stand out to the non enthusiast. Show a non car person a base Corvette and a Z06, they’ll tell you they’re the same car. Show them a 458 and they’ll say it’s special.

You see what I’m getting at?

You look like a total knob driving this, they look like a ridiculous kit car toy.

It looks like a normal Vette, every dude in his 50's has one. They don’t standout, they don’t looks special. It does not qualify as an exotic even though it preforms like one.

The brakes are atrocious and the exhaust is blathery. I really tried to love it, I could not.

To be fair first Gen air bags severely limited design options.

To get down to the brass tacks you need to look at the total cost of vehicle ownership. I was looking at a lightly used Volt and the new Fiesta. For me the insurance on the Fiesta was $25 a month cheaper, it’s a simpler car to repair with less expensive wear parts. Free charging saves you at most $500 a year. You also
