Because of the demographic. Car buyers, specifically low cost car buyers just want a cheap car. Guys that buy trucks often want to promote America, American values and are often of the sort to have political leaning that way.

I bought a pair of Fiesta 1 liters, I was conflicted but I want to see and support (domestic) auto makers developing and bringing over technology like that. Would I have paid a a bit more for it to be made in the USA? Absolutely.

I’m a reasonably young guy and I still don’t like the massive displays be it in a Model S, a S klass or something in between. It’s a distraction. All of that information should be on a HUD or sent through as audio. I should never have to look away from the road to access a control.

If I want to buy my mother an EV she’s going to want to have a service center close by, a massive display screen does very little but confuse her and she’s not looking for cutting edge style.
