It's not a truck. It's a FWD unibody SUV with a truck bed. Take one look at the rear suspension.

When I have windows that start at my cheek bones I start to understand.

Are you kidding me? Fuel injection runs the same if I'm 120 F in Death Valley or -10 in the mountains of Colorado. I've run those same routes in well tuned carbureted cars and it's not even comparable. Don't get me started on fuel economy

It's not about drainage, it's about which orientation holds the magic smoke in best. After years of testing they determined it's pitched down 14 degrees below horizontal.

Is there any data on the average age of a car in France? I'd imagine they don't have nearly the same percentage of older cars like we do in the US.

I think you give people way way too much credit.

That's not the point. They are exclusive because they are expensive. That's the whole idea of a luxury brand.

Not true. My good friend just sold his second 458 for a P85D. He buys these cars like I buy sandwiches but that's not the point.

That engine would be 50k+ enjoy that.

I work in the industry. This is absolutely truth unless it's a safety component.

US dealers do that too. There is always a Corvette or CTS-V police car wrapped in graphics at the Dream Cruise every year.

You know what the maintenance costs on equipment like that?

The 911 Turbo is not that bonkers. Sure it's super fast but it's AWD with computers looking after your every move. It's a very streetable car. I've done several thousand highway miles in a 2014.

People may not realize how lightly constructed a Mk1 is. The doors weight 25 lbs max.

I helped build a mid rear engined tubed framed Mk2 Jetta coupe with a VR6. Never doing that again.

Get a 325i and be done with it. I'm putting one together right now. I got the car for $3k, it needs a top and another $1500 in parts. However I picked up a clean parts car for $800 with a running motor.

E30 is too common? Bang for the buck with great aftermarket and some of the best handling to come out of the 80's.

What about a Clean Mk2 GTI? The 16 valve is great if you do the timing belt every 40k.

Yawn, that thing is a mash of parts at best. You sacrifice so much for that aesthetic.

Supply and demand will kick in. That's like complaining BMW is selling the i8 for above MSRP. A Model S is a luxury and status car just like the i8. When they have 500 competitors to the Chevy Bolt sitting on the lot they'll have to move on price.
