I didn’t want a FiST, I wanted a FoST. I have one. Someone ran into it this morning, luckily it was fixable, since Ford doesn’t want to make me a new one.

I feel like the GTR out front in the lead photo has an unfair advantage.
I don’t get it, why is that creepy? Sounds like she wanted to do something nice.
Meh. I realize there is a contract signed for the people on “the list” that Ford decided can be allowed to own their fancy pants car, but at the end of the day, if I buy a car, it’s mine. Screw them.
I own 3 Fords, but stupid behavior like this just tells me I should order a Koenigsegg when I come into my imaginary…
Well, Ferrari occasionally black list reporters that speak ill of them.
Let’s run down the list...
It’s not just the new money buying this garbage.
Guess Ford isn’t making cars or trucks now... /S
I can’t help but look at stuff from Rolls-Royce and think “man, rich people sure are tacky”.
I had basically that same conversation about RX7s at the parts store.
“I need front brake pads for a 1988 Mazda RX7 Turbo II”
“Is it a convertible?”
“There are no turbo convertibles”
“Well the computer says there are”
“Not in this country, but fine, no, coupe”
“Does it have 5 lugs or 4 lugs?”
“All Turbo IIs are 5 lug”
“Well…
I keep asking him to just take the “negative jigs” (which I assume he took the term for from Project Binky) and mock them up in the Datsun chassis. It’ll show him that the top of the strut towers are wider than the fenders....
Add to that his idea was to move the wheels back in the body, instead of moving the engine…
I watch the “B is for Build” series on YouTube, and it’s generally pretty fun to watch, but what he’s building right now (a tube chassis M5 powered Datsun 240Z) is... very poorly planned. It reminds me a great deal of this Civic creation, in that he’s going “eh, that looks good” without much planning.
Two things on the “feet on the dash” subject:
1. My wife does that, or at least has done it, with me driving. I will stop the damned car until she puts her feet down. It’s gross AND dangerous. Get your feet off the damned dashboard.
Guess I’ll be buying something other than Ford next round. Luckily my 2013 FoST has a few years left in it.
What’s a good replacement? The Civic Type R looks like a big stupid spaceship and the last 2 BMWs I’ve had were plagued with quality issues (in fairness, one was a MINI). Hyundai seems to be willing to build…
I don’t know, I’ve built/driven some very high power V8 cars with 6 speed manuals and they are about perfect. You can run a gear for great performance and still have double overdrive for great highway mileage. It’s hard to argue with 600-1000 HP cars running 30+ MPG on the highway. You basically treat it like a 4…
I would rather have this than a brand new Type R. Is that weird?
Super cool build. I like the creative pairing and it looks like good quality work as well! I’ll have to follow this one.
2013 Focus ST (ST3) owner here. ASSuming they may a new ST variant, I’ll probably replace mine in 3-4 years with one, I love my current model.
I do wish they’d do a wagon version of the ST in the US. I would buy one.
I prefer a 6 speed with a big 6th gear. Run 1-5 pretty close ratio and then you have 6th for highway cruising.
Gah, one of my favorite 90s cars. Especially the “big mouth” facelift models. It’s so rare to see one without a Blitz/Combat body kit and stupid mods, ragged to death.
There is a nice 98 GSX local for like 8k that’s in great shape. I keep fighting back the urge to pick it up “just because”. It really is a good…
