Well done article. As the opposite side of the coin, I sold my car about 18 months ago. My car I spent 12 years building. Everything was customized exactly how I wanted it; custom paint, custom drive train, even the wiring was completely rebuilt from scratch. I decided I wanted a new project and was building a house

I don’t even care if it wins, I just wanna look at it. I’d much rather drive it, but turns out after much testing I’m but a normal mortal.

Daily driver; my Focus ST is about right with somewhere a bit under 300 flywheel HP/330 flywheel TQ.

I don’t totally disagree. My last “fun car” was around 1000 flywheel HP, and it was a blast a very small amount of the time. I spent more time then anything tweaking it to try to make the power useful, and the car fun again. I probably enjoyed it more when it had 500 flywheel HP.

My current project will be kept at 750

I dig that ‘66 Shelby. Since I’m building a ‘65 with a road race overtone, I might be biased. That or the GT are my favs.

Speaking from experience, not a Renault GTA.

...that happens to me sometimes and I DON’T DRINK. I hate Amazon. Actually I love Amazon and hate my lack of willpower.

Porsche. That was easy.

I think they’re all wrong. Vote for me, I like Miatas!

Both drivers were (understandably) a bit aggressive on that move, I’d say. It's astonishing that the Vette was in that good of shape after a hit like that. Bummer for both teams though.

I occasionally fancy myself a good driver; then I watch videos like this. Crazy, it looks like it’s in fast forward the whole time.

1. That’s badass.
2. Please stop posting things like this while I have funds available in my bank account with which to make terrible (or amazing!) choices with...

Had a ‘86 RX7 with a V8 engine swap I did. At the time I could not weld/fabricate, so I put manifolds on it and drove it to the local performance shop to get a y-pipe made. I brought them downpipes, , from the manifolds to get it about 70% of the way there, the “y” for the end of the pipe, and the car had a catback on

The funny thing is that “not caring what people think” is his schtick. Being not PC is “what he does”. I’m sure some of it is real, but I get the feeling it’s just as much his “character” as Hillary’s B.S. is her “character”. People seem to think that he’s being real, when he’s just playing into what people want him

I think the two ports on the bottom in the second picture might be cooling line ports. They look like quick disconnect hose ports. Could be power as well though I suppose.

Hey, my last car was 2810 lbs (no driver) and made just about 800 RWHP (around 1000 bhp). Not Koenigsegg fast, but not bad for a street car. A friend and I are finishing one with 1400 bhp and a 3000 lbs weight. That's right at 1:1 (in kg). Doesn't have the aero for much over 200 mph before risking becoming a lovely

You know that, by generation title, a 30 year old is a millenial, right? 1982-2004. ;)

Sincerely,

Someone who is annoyed being called a millenial (33 years old here)

I remember it very well, I was 19 and watching the race with my Dad who was a big Dale Sr. fan. My family knew quite a few racers personally, having raced Top Fuel for many years at that point (lots of crossover among racers, even drag), so it was little more personal than it might have otherwise been. It was very

I’ve built multiple 1000+ HP engines and been a part of winning multiple Top Fuel Championships.

You have a friend with a Dodge Shadow and think that a stock SBC 350 will tolerate more power on cast pistons/rods than an LS will.

This doesn’t really need more clarification.

I’m about done feeding the trolls here. Carry on with your idiocy, let me know when you actually build something fast.
