(Yet) another reason to be an atheist (as if believing in invisible sky faeries with magical powers isn't justification enough lol ).

Hunting buddy of Dick Cheney?

That's interesting. I have been utterly unable to delete any of the 3 profiles even after many many months.

This is the description of the options for deactivation and deletion...

Um, well my point was that there are (allegedly) two "options," 'deactivate' and 'delete' - but both options are evidently one in the same since one can come back at any time even many months after selecting "delete."

FWIW, and I think this is well known now and thus goes without saying, but you can also totally 'delete' your profile (vs/ 'deactivate') and come back after months and everything is intact. I've done this with a few 'fake' profiles (I'm not on FB) just for fun (basically to prove to a few friends that FB never, as in

Im not a bigtime gamer or anything, mine gets warm but not hot by any means, not uncomfortable at all, actually a rather pleasant feeling.

Thanks a ton spliner I will check out the AT&T store after work today, I like the go phone idea a lot in case I lose a phone again (this was my 2nd in 15 years not too bad).

I wonder if someone more informed than me can help ...

I got them all right except for the metrocard. I live in the city - but never noticed the hole in it before. The only thing that might have made it a bit easier would have been another object with the white object for size context.

Jeremy, I agree the theoretical fines do seem outrageous. However, I guarantee you, with 100% confidence, that if a CR holder contacts an infringer and asks them politely not to DL or steal CR material, the CR infringer will continue without any hesitation. Imagine if there was no fine or punishment for shoplifting.

"What part of the constitution covers copyright laws exactly? Please educate me, as I am unaware that copyright is mentioned in it."

Jeremy, do you know of anyone who has been fined "into financial ruin" and who is "never able to afford" a 99 cent song again? Lots of folks who are totally against copyright talk about all these victims who have paid millions in fines and jailed for 5+ years, but I've never met one.

But what about laches and acquiescence? Surely you and Giz know that if one doesnt enforce their IP rights, you by-and-large forfeit them. Just ask Otis elevator.

So, for example, it is ok to set Bill Gates' house on fire since he can easily afford to build thousands more just like it, but it's not ok to burn down Joe the Plumber's house - in that case his property is worth protecting but Bill Gates' property rights should be unenforceable since he is rich.

Just an honest question Giz, since you appear so averse to CR protection and enforcement, if folks copied all your articles (without attribution of course), your web pages, format, links, etc and put them up at another URL with (their own) advertisers, I presume that not only would you not have a problem with that CR

Well, basically, my neighbs behavior was much like that described in the email above. And it is true, usually if you point out the noise, ask them to keep it down, they 1) label you as a whiner, and/or 2) escalate the noise just to be snotty.

I had the exact same issues with some SoBs that (still) live above me. However, for about $30 in parts from local stores, and 15 minutes of my time, I devised a little gem to make their apartment living as equally unbearable as they made mine.

And how pray tell do you reckon employees in your local market place your "special" food onto the market shelves?

Actually I've found the biggest holdup in lines, by far, is the women (any age) who stand in line for a few minutes behind others, then they get their products scanned whilst yapping banality on their cell phones, and ONLY AFTER everything is wrung up do they finally lay the phone down and start mining their 40-bushel
