If they would have written the story better, the Merovingian would have been revealed to have been a former incarnation of the One who was allowed to move to the newer Matrixes, and wanted to destroy Neo because he was jealous and fearful that he would succeed where the Merovingian had failed. It would fit with the…
Costa Rica also has no natural resources to speak of, and has a (relatively small) economy primarily driven by tourism and agriculture exports. They compete globally to support their populace (>25% of whom still live below the poverty line), but at the end of the day it offers nothing of strategic importance, that is…
You need at least twelve Cumberbi to make a Cumberbunch. Two to eleven Cumberbi is merely a Cumberbundle.
Really good, one of the highlights of the movie! His physicality was about as outstanding as I’d assumed it would be based on the trailers. “A tightly coiled snake” is the best way I can put it; like, he was always on the edge of lashing out and going a bit nuts. Heath Ledger really leaned into a jerky, almost…
I’m really not a fan of the scantily dressed Harley Quinn styles that are out there, but it’s far from the worst incarnation of them that I’ve seen (it just so happens that it’s live action so I guess that makes it seem a bit more jarring).
it’s brief, but during a flashback they recreate this image exactly:
The entire battle reminded me of the D-Day scene in Saving Private Ryan. So kickass they managed to capture that feel of confusion, pain, and brutality in an episode of television. Definitely felt the claustrophobia, too.
You're right in that it was predictable, but at this point it's predictable for GoT to be unpredictable. Sometimes it's nice to see the plot unfold in a predictably positive manner, as long as it's done well. And this episode definitely was done very well.
It’s not only confirmed, but also with him in costume.
I think at least.
They didn’t light a fire. It was always burning. Since the world was turning.
I’m too old and I’m too lazy to find a new bunch of sites to waste time on and use fucking Disqus. These sites are incredible with one of the best user bases around. Fuck Peter Thiel and fuck every Internet rando who thinks a billionaire fighting a proxy war in a court of law and bankrupting a company is somehow…
The problem is that flaming arrows are not small flying Molotov cocktails.
Unless this post is a ruse, GRRM dropped a hint about this two years ago.
Hello, I’m Rob Bricken. Some of you may know me as the guy who writes the FAQs, or the guy who hates everything, or…
Darepool.
I don’t comment often but I want you to know that your articles about the writing process are what originally brought me here. Every single one was insightful in a way that made me feel better equipped to tell the stories I want to tell.
In all seriousness, I had that sneaking suspicion that this is where this was heading when I saw who the author was and the topic of the rant. And as I started reading, I already had in my mind that I wanted to add a comment pointing out how I thought that io9 is and has been the shining gem of the Gawker collection…

It’s a sprequel!
