Maximum Carnage hits a nostalgia sweet spot for me though I think even if I try and set that aside I’d rate it a little higher.

I was just thinking about IX yesterday. It’s crazy to think of how it was hailed as the best of the bunch in its time; how so many believed it would be the most fondly remembered. It was a return to form for the series.

The desaturation of color in Final Fantasy seems to correlate quite nicely with its lost sense of whimsy. I miss the days of IX.
