I don’t know if I am in the minority, but I LOVED 999 way more than VLR. I think for me 999 was really a standalone powerful story and the way it ended with the idea of coming to terms with certain realities and truths really left its mark on me. I’ll say that even now as I play other murder mystery/visual novel type…

Seriously, with the number of people who use auto rifles to just spray and pray with bullets to win. I’d happily take a death from a skilled Handcannon user, Sniper, or Scout/Pulse Rifle user. Crucible was defined by auto rifles and shotgun bukake for too long.
