I never said programming wasn't complicated. Design is also complicated. It's one thing to have an idea for a game, it's a whole other thing to flesh that idea out into a complete working system, with a narrative to compel the player through that's written well, while balancing mechanics and levels so things aren't

Haha. I'm right there with you. I was in no way saying it wasn't a good sum, it just seemed a bit odd to me (and ended up blowing up my notifications bubble >_<).

It was a trick question! The only grade for a true lover of maple syrup, is B!

That sounds like a 'game designer' to me, rather than a "Game Designer". The former being the sort of people who 'have an idea for a game'. The latter being the type who act as competent directors of projects.

I demand pictures of you with said moose, and your maple syrup.

Not in the least.

Don't you guys get a government subsidy of maple syrup for every citizen, though? I mean, it's a good trade off.

Now playing

$3,500 for legal fees, yet they didn't get good contracts written up?

Game Designers: $73,864

You expect me to use Twitter!?!

From what I've seen and heard, it's a really robust system. "Scripting" feels too lite for what I've had shown to me by a friend.

Pixel art is a pretty specific technique. We need someone who's well versed in designing and animating in pixely goodness.

Totally agree. I'm really hoping to harbor that middle ground, as I push forward. Just really bloody hard to get the ball rolling, when it doesn't rely entirely on myself.

Yes and no, respectively. Though my mathematical education was stunted by teachers punishing me for finishing my math too fast, so they didn't know what to do with me. So to not get punished, I just stopped trying to learn. :P

That sucks. I have a really hard time with numbers, though I didn't used to way back when. I've got a very basic grasp on programming. Enough to be able to talk with programmers about what needs to happen. Hopefully I'll be able to get a better grasp on it, but my ADD is very controlling over what I'm able to do day

S'things like that is why I want to do work in the indie field, rather than the "AAA industry". Passion and talent created the games that helped launch the "AAA industry", but its become too much business, and not enough about the creative and inventive aspects of game development.

Haha. I'm the lead designer, and writer. So that would be doubling on up on what needs to be a slim team.

Right, right. Makes sense now. I was just only getting part of the picture at first.

The way you put it, it just made it sound like the concept wasn't actually 'there', in my head. Which sounds crazy. :P
