Because people don’t know how to shift :) A local guy has tons, and tons, and tons and tons and tons of fast as fuck drag passes on a bugeye 5 speed trans. He runs mid 9s, and somehow hasn’t asploded (yes, asploded) a transmission as far as I’m aware.

Pretty stupid to think that people who don’t follow the current laws will suddenly follow new ones. You can’t magically wave a wand and make every gun disappear.

They don’t.

If you sell a gun to someone who then uses it in a crime, you yourself are guilty of a crime, at least as far as I understand it in MN. If you sell to someone who is prohibited from purchasing a firearm, that is a crime. Again, enforce laws that already exist.

Yet they are all reported under the same statistic to pad the stats of those in favor of sweeping gun bans. While suicide is tragic, including them in the same data set as a drive by shooting or something is misleading at best.

It’s already a law on the books. If you’re adjudicated as mentally deficient, you cannot purchase a firearm. How about we work on better identifying mental health issues and focus on more effective enforcement of already existing laws instead of passing new ones?
