Beyond the fact that I disagree with your assessment of the early episodes, Hughes dies in episode 10, and the series is 63 episodes, so even if I agreed, I’d hardly call that a “long time” to hit its stride.

If I were told I had one anime series to show someone to convince them to get into anime, it would be Brotherhood, it has a little bit of something for everyone, and it does it all well.

Absolutely incredible run, and somehow still Joe Buck manages to undersell the moment.
