Nice demonstration video! We love our LX570 and have considered a GX to replace our 4Runner, also considered buying a second LX.

This article really hit home. Recently the wife was given a loaner Cadillac and I had a similar experience. Merging into traffic at 80MPH when another motorist merges into the same lane ahead from the opposite direction. A little snug but not like they cut me off in a dangerous fashion. The car decides the thing to do…
It’s not unsupported, there is webbing that is secured on the front end and the rear, when the tent portion is fully open the webbing is pulled tight across the internal frame of the tent. This is how nearly all folding roof top tents are designed and these straps bear the weight of the cantilevered portion. (on a…
It’s a cool idea and I have seen a couple on the trails over the years but I think it could create as many problems as it solves.
The livery is a bit over the top for me, I’d take the NISMO. The thing that strikes me though is this is till a very pretty car. The design has held up very well IMO. The inside is another story though.
Great article and very interesting insight. I approached the game with very low expectations and while it certainly did not live up to its potential or hype I didn’t hate it.
Dig it.
After building a few fun off-road/oveland rigs, complete with roof top tents, on board hot water, solar and all sorts of fun stuff I realized you reach a point where you start heavily trading daily driver comfort and convenience for off-road/off-grid comfort and convenience. That was fine when I was a single guy and…
All the stars for you, I haven’t laughed that hard before finishing my morning coffee in a long time!
When items are available for same day delivery on check out it gives me the option to break items into multiple shipments for quicker delivery, or wait and receive them all in one box.
I just watched them last night and about died. Then I turned on SNL (I have a newborn, I don’t sleep) and there was a great Bezos take there too!
I’ve actually had the opposite experience. In the past few weeks tons of items are now showing free same day or next day delivery included with Prime. And everything has been showing up on time. More and more of it is being delivered by Amazon’s first party service too which is awesome because you can actually see…
Though I might not be the guy buying this color, I do look forward to seeing it on the road.
I wouldn’t write it off as a lite weight dual sport. I had a dual sported 450X and still own a dual sported 250X. The 450 had over 15,000 miles of dual sport riding on it with nothing more than valve adjustment and oil changes. Still tight and ran great when sold. The 250X was pretty clapped out by 30,000 miles and…
Wow, never been a big beetle fan, but I love this!
I bought it to be my daily driver. At the time I lived in downtown Denver and was riding a SuperMoto’d CRF450X. It was a hoot in the city, but not as much fun if my trip required hopping on the interstate or if I got stuck in any traffic. Even with a fan it could only do stop and go so long before it started getting…
Yeah, it is a really frustrating flaw in an otherwise entertaining package. It’s the worst low speed fueling of any bike I have ever ridden. 4stroke, 2stroke, carb, FI, ever. It’s unfortunate.
I’m curious to know this as well. I have the original Ducati Scrambler Icon, and a CRF450X Super Moto. The scrambler is a lot less “hooligan”. It will cruise on the highway comfortably. Being air cooled it does get warm in traffic, but it won’t roast the living crap out of you like the CRF. The Desert Sled seems like…
So as an owner of the original Ducati Scrambler I am curious if the Desert Sled addresses my two, and really only, gripes with the original:
I’ve seen people snap U-Bolts on the trail many times before. Always been able to duct tape, bailing wire, strap them in place well enough to limp them off the trail without further carnage.
