These cars are REALLY heavy for the handling and acceleration they bring to the table. Even with their relatively massive brakes, it’s not hard to cook them (In the Model S and X, haven’t had a chance to flog the 3 yet) in a little spirited canyon driving so they definitely should not be any smaller.

This is my favorite Easter JEEP Safari concept since the forward cab truck they did a few years back. SEXY!!!

I had to remove the front mudflaps, trim the front inner fender liner a bit and run 1/2" spacers to get rid of the rub on the sway bar. FYI I am running 275/65R20 Falken Wildpeak AT3W’s and they run crazy huge. They actually measure out over 34" on the vehicle and just shy of 35" inflated and unladen. Another local

I went from a fully built 2008 FJ Trail Teams to a 2016 4 Runner Limited and a 2008 LX570 (Landcruiser with Hydraulic Suspension and softer leather). They are both great trucks but the cruiser, even being 8 years and 100k miles older, feels and drives like a much much nicer vehicle.

200 Series are Beasts. I have been amazed what my 2008 LX570 would walk up without any issue and the tech on the 2013 and 2016 refreshes has improved significantly. I took mine all over CO and UT on the stock Dunlop low rolling resistance crap before putting some decent meats on it and honestly the new tires are more

You see similar results offroad. Most people think you only use your locking differentials (Center, Rear, Front or any combination thereof) for climbing up and over but they can be just as useful descending. (And for a more pronounced test you could do what they have done here, and compare descending in 2WD vs. 4WD,

I used to RallyX one of these bad boys. Absolute hoot of a little hatch and being so tiny it let you get pretty loose through the courses without fear of killing cones because it was about as long as most modern cars are wide. (I know, not really, but it does feel tiny.)

I am confused by “Doesn’t mess with an Icon” + “Independent Suspension”.

Because you own/drive multiple cars and they aren’t all on the same side? I traded motorcycles for a week with a friend and the first time I pulled up to the pump on that Honda NC700X I just starred dumbly at the storage compartment where the gas tank should be for about 10 second before I realize the filler was

Great article and great advice, I completely agree with all of it. The two things I see people skimp on or not take into account are Water Proof Gear (Already mentioned in the comments below) and Gloves. I see people with Arai helmets, full leathers, and crap gloves. Your hands are delicate, and in my wrecks will be

Great advice, when you get soaked through and you’re being beaten up by the wind you get fatigued FAST and it can turn into a dangerous situation before you know it.

Ugh, been through similar scenarios before. When I see a meeting invite now with a time, place/conference bridge and nothing else that’s an automatic decline.

I completely thought you were joking until I read all the comments below. That is incredibly sad. Where I live (Colorado) the entire neighborhoods basically turn into a giant night long Halloween block parties with kids and parents running wild.

If I was in the market for a new Porsche or two and wanted to sample the line up before committing this doesn’t sound like a bad way to actually live with multiple cars day to day for an extended period of time vs. shelling out six figures after a 20 minute test drive.

Example: We just did a couple weeks in Costa Rica, First Class Flights stayed at the J.W. Marriot Guancaste. Only paid for our food and drinks, minimal shopping. Used points for Airfare, Hotel and Rental Car. Think we spent about $1100 total out of pocket for two adults and an infant.

I have this card and the Chase Marriot Rewards card (I had this one, wife had the Marriot card, now we’re married). If travel is the goal it’s a great combo. We use the Sapphire points for airfare and the Marriot points for our hotel stays (Marriot owns hotels everywhere including some amazing private resorts in out

Rubicon Express makes excellent hardware, I’ve built up two XJ’s and used various Rubicon Express parts on both. But their kit springs are definitely not for a stock weight vehicle. Once I added bumpers, rear tire swing out, fuel cans, roof rack, hi-lift, winch, etc... it was still stiff as hell!

Now playing

This sounds more like a lack of doing your homework than a fault of the kit, or lifts in general. With that said, many people don’t do their homework, bolt on an off the shelf kit and destroy the ride and handling of their vehicle.

You might not lose that big beefy transfer case lever as there may be a 4H and 4HL (4 High, Center Diff Locked) option in addition to 4Low.
