Go to corporate stores, not resellers. Make a friend of one of the sales persons. The key to good service is having an advocate on your side. When checking AT&T and Tmobile, make sure your source has an updated SIM card, not one that's old. It can make a big difference on reception.
There are people out there that buy more than they use. You and I might stream movies all day on an unlimited data plan, but some people only check their email once a day.
Given that Facetime's WiFi restriction was arbitrary rather than technology based, I'm hoping it's an opt-in so folks can't complain about screwing themselves on their next bill.
What if it is working?
My Motorola Atrix 4G. I deliberately avoided changing ROMs until they supported the fingerprint reader. Once you get used to swiping your digit to unlock your phone, it's hard to go back to passcodes or patterns.
There are units that will act as a go between in those cases. Google "bluetooth compatible hearing aid" and you'll get some results.
Power plug extenders are great for this project. You can plug more bricks into one power bar and not have them blocking outlets for other bricks. Less power bars needed!
What matters more to you? Money or time? If money matters more, you could probably hunt down enough bargains and old bits to recycle into the new box. If time matters more, then get premade with a warranty, service options and such. Check which brands can send techs over or overnight you warranty replacement…
Do any of our lifehackers have suggestions on sites that can look up crime data and overlay it on a map?
Don't wait until the in-store return period is over.
Just one, and I think that's changed now that they sell squaretrade.
One code you should always set is the restrictions code. You can still let the phone do everything, but if somebody sets that code for you, you're sorta stuck.
Consumer reports loves recommending Costco for their very generous return policy. I recommend getting computers there because the call in tech support is competant and has US based operators. it's nice to not fight when you're trying to make use of your warranty.
Be glad I have a job? Be glad you have employees!
Yep. Phrases like "3G speeds up to 2.5GB" pop up too. Unlimited data, but bust the cap and you'll get throttled to something slower. That's probably still fine for most, but the surprise can be unpleasant.
Regardless of your choice, insure your phone or have a spare:
Very true. Ah well, hindsight.
I hope the follow up article is on zombie prevention.
When looking at new credit cards, keep in mind closing old accounts can affect your credit score. I closed my oldest card without knowing that and my credit rating dropped by 50ish points. I'm not sure if the 6% interest difference was worth that.
