About 3000 women were murdered in the US in 2019. That’s about 250 women murdered in the US per month in that year. In case that doesn’t horrify you, for context, an estimated 474 women were murdered in Turkey in all of 2019—a country with 1/4 the population of the US, and where “honor killings” are not uncommon.

8 women are killed by men every hour of every day. They didn't deserve to be hated, or feared, or to lose their lives.

I agree. If you look at the statistics of women being murdered, trans women’s statistics are similar. We also don’t know the circumstances of these four murders and if it had anything to do with being trans. One of the article states, ““Whenever a trans person is killed, they are killed because they are trans,” said

Hey Kim, how’s that baby bar studying going? Oh, you failed, MULTIPLE TIMES. Whoops, guess you couldn’t buy a passing score.

“Socially liberal, fiscally Conservative” Just means conservative.  It means someone is socially liberal, but when push comes to shove they vote for the tax cutters.  Fuck her.  Seriously.  She came from money, dicked around in school, then exploited a sex tape and created a life out of being famous for the sake of

Me, circa 2004: God I wish Paris Hilton would just go away.

What you’re calling “work” may not be sitting around eating bonbons, but KK absolutely meets the definition of a socialite, and being a socialite and having a career are not mutually exclusive anyway. Lots of socialites use their social position as a launching pad for careers (interior decorator is a favorite), which

You know, Kim, take away all your paid staff and you’d be shitting your Spanx knockoffs trying to figure out how to feed and occupy four young children every day.

Kardashian said that she believes “in the rights that the Democrats want,” but “in the taxes that the Republicans want.”

I agree with your overall point. But I think most people genuinely believe they work hard. It’s one of those self-biased things we cannot see clearly.

“Get up & work” says the woman who’s never had a real job.

I think the issue is very complicated, way more than it seems on the surface. Puberty blockers aren’t as harmless as it was once thought, and the long term effects of blocking puberty and choosing HRT aren’t well researched. We don’t know how it affects physical and mental health. There are suspicions of negative

if absolutely none of you think theres is NOTHING wrong in having conversation with a 4 year old about gender identity, then I’m thinking there may be something to what this idiot has signed into law. Yes I still consider him an idiot but somehow thinking that a child who just recently learned to wipe their own butts

This is so sad. You’ve harmed your child irreversibly. He will not be a woman, but he will have a shorter life and be more prone to mental illness. You’ve fallen for a lie. This isn’t reversible - it’s a human body; there is no going back. European countries are well ahead and stopping this practice which amounts to

I mean, this just isn’t an answer though. If I’d been presented with hormones, instead of deciding to see gender as more fluid, who knows...

I’m prepared to be downvoted and I know the author did the best she could for her daughter but I’m always torn when things like makeup or tutus or unicorns are the origin story for a MtF transition story. I liked exclusively stereotypical “boyish” things well into my teens and would sometimes say I wanted to be a boy.

If you did that, female participation would plummet.  Seriously, if college basketball didn’t have separate men’s and women’s divisions, how many women would be playing college basketball?

Could trans anthlete’s rights and feminism be any more at odds? It’s interesting watching people try so hard to reconcile the two.

The Porizkova thing is kind of puzzling. On the one hand, I like that she is speaking out about the terrible ageism in her industry and in society in general. On the other hand, she posts these gorgeous, well-lit photos of herself on Instagram and acts as if what she is doing is incredibly “brave,” and I’m just

You know, body positivity and acceptance would go a long way if women like Christie Brinkley and Paulina Porizkova would stop presenting themselves as something hideous and outside of beauty norms. Both of these women remain conventionally attractive so I’m not sure why I’m supposed to think they’re “courageous” for
