Exactly. The GOP coalition consists of three types of single issue voters, Forced-birthers, people that don’t want to pay any taxes, and bigots. In certain states that have been gerrymandered into oblivion and/or have a large rural population that’s enough to give them decisive wins in state legislatures.

The problem has never been public opinion in general. The problem, at least in my state, is that the people who want to see Roe overturned vote in every fucking election, and the Texas legislature is dominated by lawmakers who only need their votes.

I think so many of us are stuck with the romantic image of what marriage is that the reality of partnership can be extremely difficult. Finding a middle ground, learning each other’s preferences, and putting in the actual work to be team members.
