I can understand the change. The subtitle makes it sound more like DA:O and DA:A, you know, that awesome game and its awesome expansion, rather than DA2, that really shitty, almost franchise-destroying game that disappointed everyone that liked the first game.

I'm not so sure about that. I've had a lot of conversations about Final Fantasy games, particularly about disappointment in XII, XIII and XIII-2, but very, very few people have cited the reasons you listed, and by very few, I mean I've actually never heard anyone use those reasons.

Oh, they definitely have to keep providing those staple franchises, my main concern is with the blatent fact that the success of the DS and Wii have made them terrified of trying anything new. Nintendo came out with Yoshi's Island, Super Mario 64, Super Mario Sunshine, Luigi's Mansion, Super Mario Galaxy, each of

I agree, word for word. I have no problem with Nintendo releasing more Mario games, I loved every single Mario release up to Super Mario Galaxy and NSMBDS, but the success of the Wii and DS did something awful to Nintendo; it made them greedy. Up until that point, every single Mario release looked and sounded

Remember the "#DealWithIt" guy from a few months back? He gave the truth on Microsoft's Xbox One plans, he wasn't actually in the slightest bit wrong, but Microsoft shot him down and fired him for even opening his mouth...Only for them to announce the Xbox One and prove that everything he said was true.

I really loved where the game went in the later chapters, it was all quite surprising, really. I think we all thought, all along, that the game would end with someone dying, either Joel getting infected and put down, or Ellie dying and Joel being crushed at the loss of another daughter, it always looked like something

Agreed. Over the last few years it's become so painfully easy to notice the likes of Nolan North, Troy Baker and Steve Blum, given that they're in damn near every game released these days, but when the cast list rolled at the end and I saw "Nolan North as David", my mouth just hit the floor. I had absolutely no idea

Agreed. I loved XII precisely because it was so different, it's genuinely unlike any other game in the series. There's only so many times you can play as the typical fate-bound hero who alone must save the universe! It was great to play a regular guy who happened to get caught up in crazy events, Vaan was a window

He's already said that he's staying true to Versus' original vision, so I'd imagine that would be the open world design will stay in place.

Oh, no, people are definitely content with Nintendo's output, but it's also being met with a lot more apathy these days. The games they have currently announced aren't really doing anything to generate MUST-HAVE levels of excitement, and the fact that they had no Wii U price drop at E3 is only going to make their

Oh, the Wii U looks fine, but it's definitely more a PS3, than a PS4. It's still got some room for growth, but it's definitely not on the same level as Microsoft and Sony's next consoles, which is precisely why it'll be much cheaper, just like the Wii always was. That's not a bad thing, though. The Wii was such a

Great interviews, Stephen, I'm glad you had the balls to be so direct about these issues. I've said it a thousand times before; Nintendo still make fantastic, top-quality games, but as they leaving me feeling like I've played them before, I won't be going anywhere near them as they don't generate the slightest bit of

I'm glad I'm not alone there. I just find it impossible to get excited about Nintendo games, because I've played them all before in one form or another anyway. Super Mario 3D World just seems like such a cop-out. The Wii U desperately needed a massive, exciting 3D Mario, and instead we just get the one from the 3DS,

Oh, no no no. Uncharted 2's story doesn't even reference the events of Uncharted 1, but it's still an entirely fresh experience; a whole set of stunning new locations, new villains and allies, a fresh story, improved gameplay, it's all there. Then there are games whose stories genuinely do continue from the previous

You forgot to close with, "But is sadly just current-gen hardware with a tablet controller, rather than actual next-gen hardware."

Regarding Mario Kart, they could just be ambitious. Those games, perhaps more than any of their other properties, have just lacked ambition for a long, long time. Each game provides sixteen new maps, and sixteen old ones, with a tiny gameplay twist here and there. That's it. What's stopping them from providing 32 new

I'm glad you said that! That's precisely the problem for me, Nintendo don't make sequels. Uncharted 2 is a sequel. God of War 3 is a sequel. Assassin's Creed 2 is a sequel. These are games that give you entire new stories, new worlds to explore, new dialogue, new features and mechanics; they build upon their

You were doing so well, until you got to the end and called Halo 5 a great looking game. It wasn't a great looking game, because it wasn't a game at all. It was a pointless CG teaser trailer for something that won't even be out for at least eighteen months as Halo 4 only came out last November. Then there's Killer

I always love it when I get a reply to a comment I made a good nine months ago!

I don't know, their other products aren't exactly setting their respective markets on fire, are they? Window 8 Phones are always miles behind the likes of iPhone and Samsung's lines, Windows tablets are never first choice, even Windows 8 OS has completely failed to be the success they wanted it to be, with many people
