@aek8: It was meant in humor, as those things make up for needing to make better use of daylight time. The last time was for economic reasons, to allow people more daylight to shop (as well as recreate, supposedly save energy, and improve farms daylight use.)

@easytochris: Despite cost, I agree it is a great case. The only problem I have with it is that one has to remove part of the back to use the camera connection dongle. A Dremel tool fixed that problem.

Not too long ago, somebody showed me a drum scanner that required oil to adhere the photo to the spinning platen. They wanted to know if I could make it work with USB. When he explained what the machine cost I understood why he held on to the device, which had some proprietary 96pin connector.

At first I thought this was just weird, the I remember when cereal boxes stopped including cool toys my sister and I stopped asking for those cereals. Neat thing was that my mother was never opposed to getting us some cool wind up toy from time to time, so we didn't associate the toys with the foods.

@bombastinator: Sort of. It's about structure. The silver is sparkly incorporated into the nylon thread, in this case 7% conductive nylon. It doesn't conduct heat well.

@sunspot72: Part of the allure was the haunting soundtrack/sounds. It's hard to remember, it was so long ago. That could have been the particular MIDI samples that my Rolland sound card used. That could have also been the cause of hte crashes.
