On the other hand, if he could have held off another year or two, Captain Marvel might have edged out The Flash for "longest period of time a title character has remained dead"...

Agreed! But I am also digging Bruce Greenwood on Young Justice.

You're right though; the posing, the composition, the lack of blur make these photos look like they were staged, instead of the completely natural and spontaneous nature of most other engagement photos. Plus, if the guy actually bit a ninja, he would either die of blood poisoning OR turn into a ninja himself, I think...

Saw Star Wars in the theater in grade 4, and if you asked me then what I wanted to be when I grew up, I would've told you, "I can't decide between X-Wing pilot or Jedi Knight, 'cuz I think only Luke Skywalker can be both..."

Part of me dreads it, but another part of me hopes that those Honor Harrington TV movies get greenlit at some point. That is some great space opera!

I agree with everything you say, and would add 'best dialogue of the trilogy' as well, but I still think Star Wars is a better film due to pacing and, even more importantly, the fact that it actually has an ending.

"Adolescence."

Agreed! I understand why they left it off for most of his own movie, but it's not like a wingy hat will make him look ridiculous in this crowd, is it?

I think it is worth noting that the Deadpool comic is written by none other than Chris "Dr. McNinja" Hastings, whose excellent work I might never had discovered if it weren't for this site.

Odin with two eyes? Booooo

I think it is cool how they let Whedon make some changes on Captain America (and maybe Thor, I think) to make sure it didn't contradict The Avengers; part of me is hoping that they let Shane Black sneak in a seed or two for Iron Man 3 since he is writing and directing that.

Tony Stark vs Bruce Banner for King Smart? Good question! I think it's a photo finish, but it really depends on what kind of smart you are talking about; Bruce is way smart from an academic and physics angle, but I don't know that he has ever invented anything. Well, except for the Gamma Bomb maybe...

There's a booze culture?!

What, no love for Sinanju? Sun source of all martial arts and backbone of the venerable Destroyer novels (and the Remo Williams movie)?

I wonder how the Bloody Caesar (replace tomato juice with Clamato juice..no, seriously) stacks up by ACS standards...

Or as Stephen Colbert put it when he inherited it: "Pure Wakandan vibranium!"

Honestly? I've seen worse. I'm pretty sure we all have. No matter what, this costume was guaranteed to make a significant number of people angry. I wsh they had gone with something closer to Jim Lee's recent design, but that's even more inconsistent with the idea of her being a corporate leader. While it's

Not to split hairs, but if a respondent were to say they can see gravity because they've seen a hammer fall, and the questioner said they were wrong because they were seeing the *effect* of gravity and not gravity itself, I would call that questioner a pedantic git, even if he happens to be right.

Rivets, pith helmets, filigree... if there is such a thing as steampunk, this feels like it fits...

In the Next Gen novel "Vendetta", by Peter David , Picard recalls an academy class in a dream where they discuss the Doomsday Machine, and hypothesize what sort of foe might be so terrible to require such a device. Upon awakening in the obligatory cold sweat, Picard realizes a) it was probably designed to combat the
